Kids these days are getting 4070s for their first PC? And here I had to try to convince my dad for three months to let me buy a PC with my own money. Maybe this is a third world thing ig.
Btw, you are a great cousin,10/10.

Yeah this is nutso. I built a pc for my daughter this year with a 5600g in it and no dedicated card.
It'll run what she likes to play so 🤷

It’s not a third world thing. I’m American and my first “gaming” computer was the hand me down family PC that I put an nvidia 5600 or 5700 graphics card from Best Buy in.
First real build was a dual core Intel CPU with 2gb of ram and that same GPU. I thought I had hit it big with the next one, a quad core AMD and an nvidia 260.
Not knocking it. I’d have been thrilled if I got the equivalent of that at the time for myself or for Christmas or whatever. And good on cuz for helping.

To be fair, I got to "help" my "little cousin" with his build on Christmas, too, but my little cousin is a 6'6" 24-year-old machinist who makes more money than me.

At first glance that looked like the floor, and I thought you got some wildly huge boxes.

Well that size GPU will be a thing with the future Nvidia 60 series probably, even have it's own generator.

Well done!! I remember an older more experienced friend helping me with my first build. I learned so much.

Very good work you're doing, also good components.
This will be something I will be doing next year for my friends son, hopefully. He's had a 7th gen intel CPU based system for eons now and he's starting to look for work after school but has no idea how to start building/buying stuff so I will guide him then hopefully travel across 7 states to help him in person.
