On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me an Nvidia 1660 Super.

This insinuates there is a second day of Christmas (which in some countries is true!)

Don't forget to plug the hdmi/dp cable into the card!

Nice, I actually have that exact GPU. During the GPU drought a year or so ago and the prices online where stupid high. I picked it up when I gave my 1070 to my son for his build. Then of course a few months later a bunch of GPUs were released and I picked up a newer one and the 1660 had been sitting in a box ever since.

Nice, be done with integrated graphics.

That CPU cooler is in the wrong orientation.

I'm surprised that the bracket even supports putting the cpu cooler in that direction

At least it's a simple fix that isn't terribly important. They are doing alright.

I mean, seeing that they got an exhaust up top, maybe it's intentional

Yea but it probably has almost no negative effects, 1-2 degree max

Looks like it can only be mounted that way

Just got one for a co-worker's entry build. They can be a great budget card.

That lighting with msi and the dragon looks so damn cool

Fantastic card! I threw one of these in my daughters SFF case. Surprisingly, it ran Elden Ring on medium settings on a 1440 monitor without hitch. Enjoy!

Nice, I’ve got the same one in my small pc that I built out of cheap facebook marketplace finds, still an awesome 1080p gpu

Hey you know what. I think that design of the MSI card looks sick. Congrats!

Excellent card!

That's the first gpu I ever bought, same model as that. It's getting up there in age, but it will run most older games perfectly fine.

Nice my friend, ask for some more ram for your birthday

u/diego_g_L 7h ago

1

u/1_oz 5h ago

Yes because there is big performance hit to having single channel RAM I'd get like a 32 GB kit

First ever GPU? Mind me asking what CPU you're running?

1

u/CrisuKomie 6h ago

Remember to plug your monitor into the card and not your motherboard.

Nice, I actually am using a GTX 1660 Super (just the Gigabyte Gaming OC 3 fan model instead) in a used office PC right now, it works great for all the games I'm currently playing, and it was certainly an upgrade from my laptop iGPU. Welcome to the community and have fun!

MY GUY !! Looks like we have the same exact set up, but my GPU won't power up. I've checked power supply and it's all good. I haven't installed windows or anything yet. But my system fans aren't coming on or the GPU fans. CPU fan works, LEDs work. Keyboard and mouse dongles work. But that's as far as I can get. Any advice???

was about to ask the same question

u/diego_g_L 1d ago

Idk, is there something wrong with it that I’m not aware of?

Nothing wrong actually.. mostly aesthetics.

You can vent it upward too. Not that big of a deal.

2

u/diego_g_L 1d ago

Oh well it was a prebuilt so I guess I’ll have to figure out how to turn it around

Unless you are having temp problems, don't bother. Why risk breaking something?

2

u/diego_g_L 1d ago

My temps are good so I guess you’re right
