Weekly Game Suggestions Thread - October 18, 2024

Looking for game suggestions? Have a backlog and don't know where to start next? This thread is for you!

Tips to get the best suggestions

  • Be detailed! If you're looking for a roguelike, say that. If your game must include zombies, you should probably mention that. The more detailed you are the better the recommendations will be.
  • Are you limited by PC specifications or a budget? That's all good stuff to include.

Hey everyone!

I’m curious - where do you all get your gaming news from? Obviously, this subreddit and others are probably at the top of the list for most, but I’m wondering what other sources you turn to, whether it’s YouTube channels or gaming websites.

The reason I ask is that I’ve built a gaming news aggregator site that pulls the latest updates from a big list of gaming news websites and YouTubers. I want to make sure I’m covering the best and most reliable sources, so I thought I’d ask here if I’m missing any!

So far, I’ve included:

YouTubers:

Gameranx, IGN, Last Stand Media, Kinda Funny, Skill Up, Jake Baldino, colteastwood, Xbox, LevelCapGaming, Spawn Wave, Easy Allies, JorRaptor, Bellular News, Videogamedunkey, LtBuzzLitebeer.

Websites:

VGC, Euro Gamer, VG247, Kotaku, Game Spot, IGN, gamesindustry.biz, Gematsu, Steamdeck HQ, Polygon, Nintendo Life, Rock Paper Shotgun, Video Gamer, PlayStation.Blog, PCGamesN, Push Square, Insider Gaming, MassivelyOP, PC Gamer, Tech Raptor, Pure Xbox, PlayStation Lifestyle, Operation Sports, Pocket Gamer, Niche Gamer, Gameranx, CGMagazine, Gaming Age, TheXboxHub, Press Start, Games Radar, Destructoid, Game Rant, True Achievements, Dexerto, r/Gaming Reddit and r/PCGaming Reddit.

What other sites or channels do you follow for gaming news? Any hidden gems I should add to the list? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

I use to use thegamerspost.com before they shutdown. Afterwards I've sometimes checked out https://thegamepost.com/ but it's not for me. Now I just check reddit, youtube, and whatever just pops up out there.

I used to use thegamerspost as well which is one of the reasons I created the site.

Hey All!

I'm looking for a game where you can basically role play as a merchant. I want to be buying low from one place and selling high at another. I know its very broad but looking for any game that fits that criteria.

Merchant of the Skies
Saelig
Dustland Delivery

Then there are these that either are more of a tycoon than RPG, or trading is only one of several gameplay elements:

Port Royale 3
Patrician series
The Guild 2
Spells of Gold
Mount & Blade Bannerlord

Games with the same "vibe" as zenless zone zero?

The games character and atmosphere is great but I just can't get into the gameplay.
