We hope everyone did well on the first day and those who are going global, we feel for you. I'm personally doing it myself, but am already on a streak that started long before November. To anyone with already existing streaks, I hope this should be a breeze for you. For those veterans who are going all in for November, beat it just like you did in years past. For you newbies... I hope you enjoyed your first day, it only goes downhill from here.

1. What are Roll-Calls?

• Roll-calls are posts you're required to comment on if you want to be eligible for the Diamond NoNutter flair.
• You have to comment on at least 7/30 of the roll-calls.
• A simple "Still IN" or "I'm OUT" is all you need to comment, but feel free to unleash your inner thoughts or creative writing skills in the comments!
• They will always be posted on 12:00 AM, North American Eastern Standard Time. The roll-calls are open all day, and will lock once the roll-call for the next day is posted.

2. Milestones

There are milestones for hitting a certain day. Of course, the Diamond NoNutter is the ultimate prize for completing NNN, but if you get out during November, don't worry, for we have consolation prizes.

• Out Day 1-7: No reward
• Out Day 8-14: Bronze NoNutter
• Out Day 15-21: Silver NoNutter
• Out Day 22-30: Gold NoNutter
• Total Completion: Diamond NoNutter (Diamond flairs do stack, i.e. 2021+2022)

4. Flair issues

If you have an issue with your flair, we ask that you do not DM or PM a mod separately as we have been seeing this already happen. Please kindly create a modmail for faster responses and to have the whole team look into your case.

Please also be aware that we do not require those with diamonds to change their flair to "Still In". Doing this will remove the diamond from your account and you cannot get it back unless the mods place it back on for you. We just ask for you veterans to participate in the roll calls like normal.

As of this posting (its automatically scheduled by me) the Eastern Time Zone (US and Canada) has completed No Nut November 2023. Central (1 hour behind EST), Mountain (-2hrs) and Pacific (-3hrs) have a few hours left.

I want to say that I appreciate the patience with the roll calls this year. As you know, I've slipped up a few times on posting the roll calls. I also appreciate the community covering for me with the unofficial roll calls. I'll be working on a solution in the off season to solve the human factor of the RC posting problem. See, fellow chief JD Bus and I have alternated posting the roll calls since November 1st, 2022. Meaning that, one of us would have to stay up until midnight and post the roll call. Last year, I kept up on posting in a timely manner. This year, however, life got in the way, and i slipped up a few times. So for next year, I'll be working on an automatic or semi- automatic solution. I've been live testing the native post scheduler, so we'll see how that shakes out later.

Remember, to get this year's bling (Diamond No Nutter 2023), you needed to comment on at least 7 of the 30 roll calls. For our old-timers, you may get a 3, 4, 5 or even 6x DNN flair.

The subreddit is slated to close on December 7th. Nut Daddy u/yeeval will likely decide when we're officially going to close. As for next year, an opening date will be decided in October.

Today, October 15th, is opening day for No Nut November 2022.

There are some changes for this year:

• robosmith- the second leader of the subreddit- has retired.
• Due to that, myself and fellow cumrade u/JD_Bus_ were promoted to Nut Chiefs, so we are now the leaders of /nonutnovember.
• We still have not reached a solution with last year's Diamond flairs because we could not get ahold of the bot that handles the flairs automatically. So, similar to last year, we will allow comrades to apply those flairs to themselves. Be honest about it.
• The subreddit wiki, the fandom site nonutnovember.fandom.com, and the twitter account, were shut down due to too much strain on the mod team. I'll work on the subreddit wiki later this month.
• I will be conducting a subreddit census for this year's challenge. I'll make a post early-November explaining it.

This is not a roll call, important information below.

Hello soldiers!

As we all know, the month is coming to a close and we can only bet many of you have loads of questions. I want to clear them up in this post, so it is important that you all read this in full.

1. "It's the the end of the month, when will the sub close?"

• The sub will not close immediately upon it turning over to 1st December. Instead, we will be leaving it open for a few extra days to ensure our bot rolls diamonds out to everyone. When will it close? This date has yet to be determined.

2. "Where is my diamond?"

• We want everyone to relax and to not flood our modmail with this question as soon as the month is over. Your diamonds will come to you in short time and we will send updates along the way. Our bot, run by u/AuntieRob will be handing out those diamonds once we are able to confirm and run through all roll call tallies. This can take time. It is important that you all stay patient as there is a load of work for us to do on our end, so by sending us questions that have already been answered here, it will only make for that time to be far longer.

3. "I got the wrong flair/my diamonds were removed."

• We are asking that everyone save us time and send modmails for real world issues such as this. This will require us mods to manually go through checking and lead to downtime until it is fixed. Do not expect fast responses as we have our own lives as well as trying to go through each issue individually. Our team is prepared, but even still this is a lot of work for us, and I'm trying to make this as apparent as possible for everyone reading this.

4. "If I change my flair to "Still IN", can I get my diamonds back?"

• This is a separate issue we have been noticing that is all too common. The answer is no. You will not be able to get your diamonds back by yourself. Only us mods are able to place them back for you. Those with diamonds are requested to keep their flairs no matter your status, unless you so choose to change them on your own, but be aware you will lose them until speaking with the mods via modmail. We just ask that you participate in roll calls and honesty policy that if someone asks for your status, you inform them in the comments.

5. "I didn't participate in 7 roll calls, what now?"

• We are sorry, you did not meet the requirements. We can allow for some exceptions, but those run on a case by case situation and the final say is determined by the moderator working on your case, unless anyone else in the team wishes to say otherwise. We can try our best to help, but there is no guarantee.

6. "Is there a way I should word my modmail?"

• The short answer is yes. We kindly request that you leave the flair you are having issues with in the subject of the mail, and include in detail about your issue, and what flair you are missing, or should be replaced. Again, we still get "Where is my flair?" messages with no context. Please don't be like this, make it easier for us so we can work with you in more haste.

Data collection

The bot we use to handle flairs, u/AuntieRobot, collects data that is connected to your account. The data is collected and kept indefinitely under the current configuration. Please do keep in mind that during a data removal you will lose eligibility for all flairs.

What data is collected

The bot keeps 2 tables in the database:

• users: this contains your username, your old flair from last year, and your new flair that will be applied this year
• posts: this table contains the year, the post ID of the rollcall you answered to, your username, the first 500 characters of your response to said rollcall, and a flag that details if your answer was parsed as a win/loss/unsure

As of now, it seems like the bot, /u/AuntieRobot has given out all of the flairs that it deemed were necessary, however, it seems evident by the traffic in mod mail that it's still a work-in-progress and that many users are still missing the flairs. Just so you know, please do not PM me or any of the mods individually regarding flairs. With the amount of users here it gets overwhelming and there's a greater chance you will be missed. Please use this post to let us know if you were missed, but as we advance, please only message through mod-mail.

Here are some things to know as well as include in your comment:

• Please keep all comments here relevant to flairs, and avoid unrelated chats and discussion. As soon as we have all flairs assigned (hopefully tomorrow) we will strive to have a Congratulatory Award Ceremony Post for the subreddit so everyone can display all their cool shiny flairs and celebrate each other.
• Remember that the rules of NNN states that you must have done the roll-call for at least 7 out of the 30 days that were posted. Mods will be upholding this rule as usual.
• When requesting your flair, please indicate if you previously had other year's flairs that are now missing due to changing to the "Still In" flair. Please provide proof of you winning other years if possible.

My question to the community is if you all actually read our mod posts and roll calls. Nearly every single time we post important information, people just comment "Still In!" To start, we thought it was fun and games until we came to the idea that it was serious and people just see one large post from a mod and think "ROLL CALL, YAY!".

We do a lot of hard work here, I have done countless modmails, each with the same issue. Ever since introducing a flair requirement, it has helped, but only so much. We still have multiple users relying upon us mods to assign it, then waiting up to 24 hours for a response to something they could've done in one minute had they actually spent three seconds reading the message and clicking the link.

I'm slowly getting tired of the work, yet I know I will pull through to the end of the month. I wanted to make this post as a clarity between the mods and the community. Is there anything we could try to be more clear about here in order to help with the situation? We are very fast paced and we come out with updates all the time, we've even now done education yet all of it is not working. The main issue is that we believe users are not reading anything that we post. We'd also like to ask the community to help spread our word, and if they see someone in need, to help them and be our front lines.

I hope this message finds you all well, and I hope you read this all. Again, if I find this being treated like a roll call, I will simply lock the comments, or just remove everything that says "Still In" to make way for the discussion that can entail from this post.

• The wiki is now re-opened. I'm going to continue working on it throughout the year but it is complete enough for release.

Some comrades in the community have expressed their distaste for the Nut Hunters. When this subreddit was created, Nut Hunters were the strongest willed comrades who sorted through /new to find and report NSFW content. This year, the Nut Hunter name has been bastardized.

Now, Nut Hunters are folks who try to get other people to fail though sharing various forms of pornography. As of today, 11/18, the mod team will be cracking down on people who share NSFW content. If you share it more than once, you will be permanently banned. This subreddit is not for sharing pornography, it is to fight the addiction of masturbation and pornography.

I call on every comrade, still in or not, to report any NSFW-pornographic content you see on this subreddit. You too can fight the beast of pornography.

We have been receiving an influx of mod mail request of flairs changes. It may take longer than normal times for us to respond to your mod mail. If you change your flair to “still in” you will lose whatever flair you had previous set. It is not a requirement to change your flair to still but be warned if you do your diamond flair will be not show anymore.

To further help this, we have added an unverified Diamond NoNutter for 2023. It is allowed for anyone and will exist for this year. Be aware that "Unverified" does not mean it is a real diamond. It's a placeholder for those with issues until it is updated. We do not treat it the same as regular diamonds. The flair is still subject to change/be removed at any time.

Hello everybody. I would like to announce a very major change to the subreddit.

We will be changing this sub to require a flair for all posting/commenting.

For all of you who do not understand, it was mentioned in this post so please read it in full.

As you all know, this is a very flair based subreddit, and we have had major issues with educating users on how flairs work, causing for our modmail to be spammed with people who do not know that they can set their own status. We have attempted to teach you all about our flairs and left guides on how to set them in the above mentioned post, however we still are getting influx of users mailing us who still do not understand.

It is always important that you are reading our pinned posts and announcements to stay up to date with what is happening in the sub. We had users who thought our last announcement post, and ones before it were roll calls because they did not read it.

• "What if I am not participating but still want to be active in the community?" That is okay! We entirely understand this, which is why we will be also pushing out the "Spectator" flair for those who are doing just that! The name is subject to change, we also want to see with the community if they may have any recommendations that follow the theme of this sub for those who are not competing but still want to be apart of the community.
• "What happens if I don't have a flair and try to post?" Once this change is made, automod will send you a message including links to Reddit support on how to change your flair, and also our wiki to teach you about the flairs of this subreddit.
• "When will this change?" There is no set time as of yet, but expect something within this week. Possibly sooner then that, we'd at least like to leave this post up informing users ahead of time.
• "Why are you making this change?" As said in the beginning, this is a very flair based sub, causing for people who do not know how they work and are relying upon us mods to do the work that they can do themselves. It puts a major stress on us and we go through nearly hundreds of modmails a day with a large majority of them being issues that can be resolved with a simple press of a button for the user.

Hello all you great soldiers. If you have actually been reading the most recent roll calls, we have had wild issues with flairs. This mostly comes down to a large majority of users who have no idea that they can set their own flairs, which is why I am making this post. I want to educate users on how to set their own flairs and how our flairs work here.

Firstly, I want to push this through. Here is support directly from Reddit on how to assign your flair across mobile, old Reddit and new Reddit. We ask that you spend some time and read over it and then assign your own flair based on your current status.

Secondly, now that we are entering "Bronze" and other awards, some users do not understand how they work. Bronze, Silver and Gold medals are for those who have failed within the respective dates that the roll calls claim. You can only see or assign them to yourself if you have failed.

Below are the dates once again:

• Out Day 1-7: No reward
• Out Day 8-14: Bronze NoNutter
• Out Day 15-21: Silver NoNutter
• Out Day 22-30: Gold NoNutter
• Total Completion: Diamond NoNutter (Diamond flairs do stack, i.e. 2021+2022)

If you get out across any of these days, you are to update your flair to out, but will receive the award for making it that far. Those competing should always be trying for the diamond, but we understand if you failed, which is why we created the awards as we have these as consolation prizes and they are to be treated with respect.

If you have a diamond, we do not require you to change your flair as you will lose it. Please just stay up to date on the roll call.

Lastly, please refer to our wiki for any further questions, and please be sure to read through the entire roll calls as information is always subject to update and change.

As a reminder, do not fully rely upon just us mods to do the work that you can easily do yourself. Instead of sending us a modmail and waiting hours, maybe days for a response, you can assign your own flair instead. We hope this can help tone down the amount of mail we receive so we can work on the more important issues first as to not turn this subreddit into a place that requires flairs to be able to post and comment, which is being considered at this time.
