Christmas wishes from Sunita Williams, Barry Wilmore, Don Pettit and Nick Hague who were launched into space on 5 June on what was due to be an eight-day test flight mission - but technical issues mean they are still stranded on the International Space Station.

A three hour tour...

The weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was tossed. If not for the courage of the fearless crew the Minnow would be lost. The Minnow would be lost.

I think the biggest plot gap of that show was if it was a three hour tour they should have been found relatively quickly.

Presumably, they were at maximum 1.5 hours out on a slow tour boat. There can only be so many islands in that area and then knowing the wind direction… 🤷

Good thing they packed christmas merch for that 8day trip.

It’s actually way easier and safer to send supplies up than to bring astronauts down.

No /s so I will say I'm pretty sure there's all kinds of shit already in the ISS from all the previous missions/astronauts..

Do u think this is some consipracy and they knew they would be stranded for months?

I believe they still have cargo routinely delivered to the station

Some things shold be obvious without /s

It’s a space station that’s been cycling the earth for years now, stuff is left up there.

It’s only Williams and Wilmore who had the unexpected stay over the Christmas period, Pettit and Hague launch in September with the expectation they’d be there for Christmas.

I was about to get on the bus to go watch the launch that got scrubbed. Crushing. But I still feel the connection.

NGL, had a bad feeling about the Boeing Starliner project. The entire thing should be scrapped. Competition is good, if there is actual competition.

They're only 250 miles from Earth, but you can't get there from here. I traveled that far to see family for Christmas and made it home the same day.

This reminds me of that story and ridicule of nasa sending a woman into space for a week or month and gave her like a 100 tampons and she was like, WTF, they know nothing about women, but in reality they were just preparing for such a scenario. I’m fuzzy on the actual number and just remember the just of the story.

It has to suck to be stranded far from home on the holidays. I can't imagine going on a trip expecting to be home soon and then get stranded for many, many months. God bless them (not religious, just a saying). There was a time when astronauts were revered. Now it all just seems normal. To be stranded in outer space seems so unreal.

They’re not really stranded, if there was an emergency they could be back on Earth tonight. They’re up there doing valuable science.

With CGI candy canes?.."valuable science" lmao more like brain washing the public..I'm so over it

What’s up with the video? Did they do that on purpose?

Love her manic hair! Hope they're back safely soon.

Good thing they did the test flight really, it would suck if some people got stuck up there due to technical issues!

Bring back the A380

Don Pettit flew up on a Soyuz on September, and Nick Hague flew up on SpaceX Crew-9 the same month, and they both expected to be there for Christmas. It’s only Williams and Wilmore who had the unexpected extension. But as astronauts, I’m sure they’re not unhappy about being in space.

Why don’t female astronauts cut their hair?

Nothing is wrong with it. It's just prominent. Much like her credentials.
