Exactly what I was thinking took another look to make sure I didn't find a sub for something else. Lol

Anytime I see the liveleak logo on a video I have to make sure my kids aren’t looking over my shoulder.

Honestly, anyone could do this, it's not very big and has zero knots. You can see from the vid that you've got to be careful not to hit the block too hard.
An alternative to the elastic chain thing, put your wood in an old car tyre before splitting.

I have the fiskars x27 splitting axe and the 10lb maul. For the price, it really can't be beat; it comes with a lifetime warranty

I have both, but an 8lb maul, hell would love those both over anything, they’re the best

Me and my grandpa used old tires, he had 6 different sizes that we would use to do the same thing essentially, worked well most of the time! This would have been way better lol

An old tire works pretty well too, and you don't have hook and unhook a chain

hitting the far side of the billet and bouncing the handle off the near edge doesn't seem/feel like good form.. but I'm old and pay someone like this to deliver my wood already split ..

Exactly what I thought when seeing this, this is how to knacker the throat of the handle and cause your maul head to fly off when you least expect it.

Somehow it doesn’t look so easy when I chop wood.
