For those that have attended COTA

Is the public allowed to be on the grounds on thursday? Its my first time attending and Im trying to have the whole experience. I saw someone in a different post say its easier to obtain riders signatures on thursdays. So im wondering if thats specific to a certain GP? Has anyone been at COTA on a thursday?

Not sure about COTA, but at silverstone on thursdays before the race, have a day of the champions to benefit the charity two wheels for life, it does cost extra upon your ticket, but you do get access to the circuit and some pre-race festivities, the pit walk and auction, stunt shows. (And yes maybe 'better' access to the riders)

It helps fund a charity, and as an experience it is pretty good for the cost. This may be what you've heard of?

Two Wheels For Life also offers paddock passes for the Thursday afternoon (also going to charity). No other activities but still chances to run into riders (it’s not available at each track but the list should be online).

But you also have free track access on Thursday at most circuits, with a free pit lane walk (I’ve got Barcelona & Le Mans in mind but I’ve also seen photos from other circuits).

How did you get it tho? Was it a ticket you had to buy from the motogp site or the individual go venues’ sites?

You just go to the track with your ticket for the weekend. For the pitlane walk in Barcelona, it was free access in 2023 but you had to book it on the circuit’s website (can’t recall if it was free or a couple euros, I only had friends going) in 2024. Le Mans you just had to show up with your weekend ticket.
