Design ADDING COMMUNITY TOPICS IMPOSSIBLE ?

DESKTOP - IS THIS TRUE? Newby mod SO confused. My main topic is Politics, but I want subtopics like abortion, discrimination, economy, I want them searchable and postable. Is this impossible?

Community topics have been phased out.

Dang, I wish I could have tried them. Wonder why? My next idea will be to manually sort current posts to megathreads. I really want to keep it simple and for now, I'm too baffled to do much else. Thanks for your response!

Maybe you mean post flairs?

No - I keep TRYING to understand what those are and what they would look like and how they would work, but I really don't get it. I think that if I just do a new post labeled "election integrity megathread and just keep adding new posts from me and sorting other's posts to those threads... I'm too tired to explain it better for now.

You have no way to "sort" posts into other threads.

Think of Flair as a label or category. You can set your subreddit so users can, or must, self select a "Flair" for their posts. People can then choose to only see things with that particular flair. There is even a sidebar widget to help with that.

For example. here are two from one of my subreddits.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Arcade1Up/?f=flair_name%3A%22Buy%2FSell%2FTrade%22 - This only shows the Buy/Sell/Trade posts

https://www.reddit.com/r/Arcade1Up/?f=flair_name%3A%22Question(s)%22%22) - This shows the Questions posts.

Ah, I see your flare and it makes sense. If I can figure it out, I may use it. But, what's a widget?

Since your on mobile, you won't really see them, but most people don't use mobile (at lease in my subreddits) so they do see a sidebar on the right that has different configurable elements.

I strongly recommend that you become familiar with the "Mod Tools" area on desktop.

Hi /u/whyismynamenothere, please see our Intro & Rules. We are volunteer-run, not managed by Reddit staff/admin. Volunteer mods' powers are limited to groups they mod. Automated responses are compiled from answers given by fellow volunteer mod helpers. Moderation works best on a cache-cleared desktop/laptop browser.

Resources for mods are: (1) r/modguide's Very Helpful Index by fellow moderators on How-To-Do-Things, (2) Mod Help Center, (3) r/automoderator's Wiki and Library of Common Rules. Many Mod Resources are in the sidebar and >>this FAQ wiki<<. Please search this subreddit as well. Thanks!

Found regex match: COMMUNITY TOPICS

It looks like you're asking about how to change your subreddit's Community Settings, including: the

Community Name
, Description, Topics (Tags), Welcome message, Location and Type of Community. These are common questions. These settings are found at: https://www.reddit.com/r/SUBREDDIT/about/edit.

FOR INFO ON: Name, Description, Topics, Welcome Message, Location and Type of Community, please click here.

Subreddit settings work best in a cache-cleared desktop browser. (Limited option: mobile browser on desktop view.)

If you found your answer, feel free to reply with "<3 Automod" or "Thanks, Automod". Otherwise wait for a human helper to come along to help you. This post has NOT been removed.
