I personally think that the dutch would still have their full territory, we have a knack for telling the sea to go bother someone else.

but not if the sea says: "f*ck the dutch" and comes with a 200 meter high wave

*pulls 200 meter high dyke out from behind his back * Not this time sea, mwaha

I think some of our territories would be taken over, like most of noord and zuid holland, and flevoland but we would be able to either keep or recover lost lands.

I don't know about that one chieftain. They say God created the world but the Dutch created their own country. Those mans apparently managed to lift a whole landmass out of the sea and put a flag on it.

The maximun possible sea rise once every last ice cube of the planet melts is about 100 m, and it would be a process that lasts over 1,000 years. There would not be any wave, 200 meter of 10 meter.

6

u/Lasseslolul Jul 24 '20

I know. I didn´t meant it to be realistic. it was just for fun. also what if thousands of ice asteroids hit the earth wouldn´t cause it a rise of sea levels?

Netherlands would probably build the delta 2.0 and be the only country to survive intact lol

2

u/Lasseslolul Jul 24 '20

switzerland would survive too lol

Spain is just a big plateau, even if the sea level rise 400 meters my town will be ok.

9

2

u/X-AE-AXII Jul 24 '20

The UK finally left Europe.

Of course, I know the difference between Europe and the E.U. so /s

2

u/onewingedangel3 Jul 24 '20

Where would the water be coming from? Even the ice caps melting wouldn't be this severe.

2

u/tumning Jul 25 '20

I love this world. ISLAND RUSSIANS

1

u/Lasseslolul Jul 28 '20

Even though millions of people died?

1

u/emolga72 Jul 23 '20

Oh God the Russians took Georgia

2

u/Lasseslolul Jul 24 '20

no they didn´t. i forgot to mark it but this georgia thing is its own country

2

u/Breakingerr Mod Approved Jul 24 '20

Then why it's called Tiflis? Georgians call it Tbilisi.

2

u/Lasseslolul Jul 24 '20

I am sorry. I live in Germany and so was the atlas in german.

1

u/Ale_city Jul 24 '20

You got the elevation of Iberia wrong, it would be less flooded

1

u/Lasseslolul Jul 24 '20

Not my fault. I drew this map from an atlas so the atlas must be wrong

1

u/Ale_city Jul 24 '20

Or maybe mistook the elevation colour in the map a bit? I mean, it is not very bad, just a minor pedantry of mine to point it out.

1

u/Lasseslolul Jul 24 '20

That might be it

1

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '20

Oh god, the UK and like half of eastern europe is just straight up gone

1

1

u/converter-bot Jul 24 '20

15 miles is 24.14 km

1

u/Sir_Poopinglot Jul 24 '20

Græder på dansk

1

u/ShinyChromeKnight Jul 24 '20

France just looks like Norway now

1

u/ObjectiveMall Jul 25 '20

The Caspian Sea finally wouldn't be a lake any more.

1

u/Cusi_Yupanqui Jul 30 '20

I love the idea of a Russian temperate island empire

1

u/nahmknot May 23 '24

One piece world

1

u/Spiritfur May 23 '24

OP's about to have a bunch of One Piece fans here, especially with the red line mention.

1

u/Lasseslolul May 24 '24

This post is 3 years old, how can you and I still comment on it? Shouldn’t it be long archived?

And no. In 3 years since posting this I don’t think I have ever had OnePiece fans here

1

u/Spiritfur May 24 '24

I think the archive rule may be different subreddit to subreddit, but I'm not sure.

And I only said what I did in my comment because a new chapter (unofficially) came out yesterday, and someone added a link to this post in their comment.

1

u/Lasseslolul May 24 '24

Someone added a link to this post in their comment

Ok wow that’s cool

1

u/Hack_Dawg May 24 '24

The one piece is real.

1

u/The2nd_man May 27 '24

Im curious, why 200 meters?

1

u/Lasseslolul May 27 '24

Fun. And because 200 m looks more exciting than 100 or 500 meters.

1

u/Saturnius1145 May 27 '24

seems a bit arbitrary since even if all ice caps on earth melted it would only lead to about 70-100 meter increase.

1

u/Lasseslolul May 27 '24

Wow. It’s almost as if I had already said that it was arbitrary in the first place.

1

u/LiterallyKesha May 28 '24

What's crazy is One Piece confirmed exactly 200 meters in their latest chapter.

1

u/Lasseslolul May 29 '24

I didn’t know One Piece was on Earth

1

u/Typical-Thyme May 29 '24

Bro must've been working with Oda

1

u/Lasseslolul May 29 '24

Is One Piece even set on Earth?
