Mine doesn’t do interviews, just lots of applications lol. My affiliate said that they often deny families at least 3 times before they are accepted πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ but we’ve progressed pretty far for it being our first time. Good luck!

Update: I did the interview I tried my best and I think they saw that.. a week later they wanted to move forward with a house tour and a couple of questions. Because I had to leave town for work I recommended the days I’d be available for a house tour and then the rest of the days I could have a family member show up on my behalf but they decided to do the house tour on the first day and selected me for the first time slot so I was one of the first ones to do the house tour they took a few pictures notated everything and said they they have house tours till Dec 13th from there they would let me know if they will move forward. Praying that I get this opportunity to change things around for us. Now I just wait. Anyone know how long it takes to hear back after or what the process is next. πŸ™πŸ½πŸ™πŸ½πŸ™πŸ½

Hi there! They really just want to know about you more as they prepare to advocate for you before the board for final approval of your application. They want to know what approval would mean to you (housing stability, better future for children, etc) they also want to hear from each household member. They will ask about any blips in your credit history if any and about your living situation at the time. Honestly, I was and you are more nervous than necessary. Clean your home and have a great conversation with people that WANT you to succeed! They also gave some great insight on the whole process and when you will hear from your affiliate with an update. Praying you have an amazing experience and receive that approval!

πŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ™‚ thank you so very much I sit here and just think about the what ifs and just need to speak from the heart and pray that god will lead me and what’s meant for me is meant for me and what isn’t maybe not at this moment but just keep trying.Β

Mine as full of shit - the whole process was actually full of shit. At the interview I was very transparent, I asked all the questions about the process and steps, and ultimately I was lead to believe that it was all good. But please don't be fooled. The Habitat in Toronto essentially made me pay a fee - and when I asked about getting it back in the event that habitat turns around and says "NO" do i get it back? Because I submitted all financials at the get go, and if you had a problem with that from the get go why bother me with a home interview." - the response I got was "we wouldn't put families in these situations" but guess what - they did! And they legit robbed me of a bogus processing fee because the credit union they referred me to for the pre-approval offered "FREEEEEEE" pre-approvals. have asked for it back have emailed many times and no reply. So just be very careful at what they lead you to believe.

Like many have said, fees are not common, and it seems like Canada is doing that, based on the affiliate. I have never heard of a fee in the states.
