Self Good ole SGT Wu
It seemed the writers didnt know what to do with his character. I didnt care much one way or the other for him the first time i watched the show. But upon rewatch,he kind pf grew on me. I just wosh he was treated better.

If I recall correctly (from the podcast) they created Wu’s character because of how great Reggie’s audition was. I would have loved to see more of him but he is still one of my favorite characters.

I’m rewatching for about the 4th time or so and I agree, Wu nit even boy had great one liners on cases, he often pointed things out to them and he did all their IT detective work. They treated him poorly but he carried on.

I like that! I’ve also heard ‘Wu-wolf’ and ‘were-wu’ though ‘were-wu’ wouldn’t make sense as the ‘were’ means ‘man’ thus werewolf is ‘man-Wolf’ or rather, ‘Wolf-man’.

Sgt Wu was great. I hated how they kept him in the dark for so long.

I did too. No matter how many times I rewatch, I’m always saying to the screen, “Just tell him!!! He deserves to know. Stop hiding it from him!” Always. Every of the time.

Man is hilarious. They shouldn't have waited so long to tell him about everything tho. Did him dirty

He's fantastic. Just about every wry line he utters we are sitting on the couch howling "Drew Wu, Drew Wu". Criminally under promoted. Like, I know the plot needed a beat cop to interact with the detectives, but Wu has the chops.

Conflicted. Someone needed to remain tethered into the "real world" a bit. But I agree, they could have done better on character development for Wu and for Hank too.

Wu is a good version, of a comedic relief character. Usually these character are a bit dumb and unimportant. Wu on the other hand can pull his weight, is smart and somehow the hardes working officer in Portland.
That bein said, the character (and Hank) had some really mediocre writing and VERY little personal growth and developement. Miss opportunity on both occasion.

Both Wu and Hank got kind of screwed, IMO. I mean they're still alive at the end but I felt so bad for their lack of relationships or relationship drama despite Hank trying and they made Wu seem like a loner loser when I thought he was pretty cool. They both deserved to have relationships and have more happiness than they got. But, like I said at least they're still alive, I guess.
