[MOD] Success Sundays - Post your weekly triumphs here!

Hey gainers. Today is Success Sunday!

This is a place to post something that you accomplished this week, or any personal triumphs, and get encouragement/motivation from your fellow users. Some examples:

  • This week I set a personal record on my bench press of 150 lbs!

  • I was struggling to meet my daily calories for a while, but I finally was able to reach my goal on Friday!

  • One of my friends complimented me on the size of my arms

  • This week I ripped my favorite pair of shorts -- it was awesome.

We encourage you all to post any triumph -- big or small.

Saw my grandpa after a long time not seeing him, and pretty much the first thing he said after greetings was that my arms are big.

Feels good.

Went from 120 pounds beginning of 2020 to 178 pounds now. Not embarrassed to wear a T-shirt anymore. I actually get complimented in them now!

New bench record: my own weight for a double😎

After going on a bulk for 3 months, I put on ~20 pounds and have stayed above 150 pounds which was my goal weight for years. As fun as this journey was, I think I'm going to start my cut phase this week.

On Wednesday 4/28, I will be 4 weeks nicotine free.

I started bulking last year at 155, I hit a plateau at 195-200.

That's a big step for your health not many people manage to do. Best of luck keeping it up.

Sometimes it's just the one big workout to really kick off the consistency you need. Go get it baby!

My mom told me I looked buff (not sure about translation. Not in a weird way). Also she showed me a few ab exercises that I can consistently do without lower back issues (she’s a physiotherapist).

Very nice! How long have you been training and how long do you reckon you'll get to 140kg?

I hitt 122.5kg for a double the other week, and anticipate 140 for triples by December 2021, January 2022...maybe?

u/KverEU 71-96-100 (198) Apr 26 '21

Thanks! Just under 2 years. No clue as I don't train for bench strength, I'm not really sure what my max would be with a short peaking program and a deload. Probably not before next year though.

1

u/_TheLonelyRedditor_ Apr 26 '21

Nice! At this point I'm happy with 2.5kg /month increase on my bench working weight

1

u/KverEU 71-96-100 (198) Apr 26 '21

I've added 10kg in the past 10 weeks, I think there's a bit of potential left because I purely train for aesthetics, but that also means it's something I just attempt for fun like this on a rest day. Maybe if I get closer to 140 I'll train dedicated just to get there. Still at 2.5kg per month you'll get there rapidly. Your max right now is about 130 then?

1

u/_TheLonelyRedditor_ Apr 26 '21

I haven't maxed out for bench ever, I'd say it's probably 125, 127 or so.

2

u/KverEU 71-96-100 (198) Apr 26 '21

Well good luck man you might surprise yourself!

Finally started trying to gain weight at the beginning of the week. Eating 3k calories and working out each day

4

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '21

Been taking some sleep supplements to help me sleep better. Have way more energy lately. I feel a little less like a zombie and my head is clearer.

1

u/Theworden1111 Apr 26 '21

OoO i struggle with sleep! What supplements have you been trying?

2

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '21

I got one from target by nature made that has melatonin, GABA, and l-theanine. I would like to try a supp with better dosing and also magnesium glycinate in the near future.

u/frallet Apr 26 '21

I'm 30 lbs up from when I graduated HS. Still got told I'd blow away in the wind last week but I'm getting there lol

I'd LIKE 165-170 but I wouldn't stop if I got there. I'm not sure I'll ever stop seeing a skinny guy in the mirror though, but feel way better than I used to

u/MrBlutine Apr 25 '21

Finally can perform 5x5 bench press at 95. Felt good
