I will soon be banning people for using slurs and outright insults
Reddit appears to be ramping up anti-harassment efforts, so to protect the integrity of this sub I will start banning people for using obvious slurs and insults.
I'm sure you're all aware of the kind of comment I mean, so I won't spell it out.
No modification to the rules is required, as these bans will be applied under Rule #6, "Don't be a Jackass".
Further guidance will be available by examining the comments which result in bans.

Questionable I don't get the point of shadowbanning on social media
They say it's done because unpopular users dominate the feeds on X and I suspect Facebook too. What these platforms should do is just let these users run away the people they're going to run away, thus creating an echo chamber. But then people should be king of their own echo chambers. Let the people who want to leave go away, but don't punish people by reducing the abandoned posters' overall reach.
According to Musk, X admits openly to shadowbanning using this algorithm.
It can't be "for the good of the users," since users select voluntarily who they want to follow. I suppose the new "for you" feed (that isn't based on followers) plays a role in this.

Reddit automated banning is dumb
I've been automatically banned from two subs on the basis that I subscribe to r/neoliberal . I don't even remember why I subscribed to r/neoliberal, but I suspect it was because I thought it was a parody sub.

Judge rules Arkansas law allowing criminal charges against librarians is unconstitutional
“A federal judge on Monday struck down key parts of an Arkansas law that would have allowed criminal charges against librarians and booksellers for providing “harmful” materials to minors.
U.S. District Judge Timothy Brooks found that elements of the law are unconstitutional.
“I respect the court’s ruling and will appeal,” Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin said in a statement to The Associated Press.
The law would have created a new process to challenge library materials and request that they be relocated to areas not accessible to children. The measure was signed by Republican Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders in 2023, but an earlier ruling had temporarily blocked it from taking effect while it was being challenged in court.”
