I am also a liberal conservative (or a conservative liberal?) and am old.... I can't stand trump, and will vote for Harris. I don't like her antigun diatribe, and wish she would stop harping on it. She is hurting the democrats, she should instead talk about health care, school lunches, support for Ukraine, and the many other things trump failed at. (there are a lot of them)

well, if you actually look at it, it seems to me that she is moderating her party because a lot of people in her party want the complete outlaw of guns but sheโ€™s convinced the party to settle with gun control and basic gun laws, which is a thing a lot of Americans agree on, building a caucus drastically less crazy than that which we were seeing 10 years ago. Sheโ€™s a moderate and is trying to moderate everyone around her, we need that rn. Someone who can look the crazy ppl in the face and laugh yk, no fear, no going back

I'm a pro-gun liberal but I have never met a reasonable gun owner that thinks guns should be an unrestricted free for all. Guns are not toys and people who own them should be mature and responsible about it. The most serious folks I have met about gun safety are all dedicated gun owners.ย

So I'm not really sure what the segment of society is that thinks we need less gun regulation. I get some hesitation about banning things outright. I would like to own an AR at some point because they are fun to shoot and so I would be disappointed and fight against a democratic policy to ban them but at the same time it has been done and reversed before so it's not this dire all hands on deck situation to save them.

It is an on-going discussion we can have in society without it being so important that it's worth voting for someone like Trump about. Remember he said take the guns and go through due process after, I mean that sentiment alone is way scarier to me than banning assault rifles because it is an attack on the basis of the second amendment instead of a restriction on top of a right.

School lunches. Hell yes. Feed our children. America is far too wealthy a nation to allow so many children to live in poverty. Feed the damn children.

Have no idea where you get for news from, but Kamala Harris speaks about these issues all the time in highly intelligent detail. She has been talking about the very things you think she should for years now.
