I come from a right leaning family, I grew up hearing only bad things about the left. Now I'm actually getting into politics and the only thing I'm seeing of the right is Trump rambling and getting convicted. While from the left I see someone pretty competent in Kamala, and I see myself in Walz. I love video games, I've dressed up in drag once or twice. They feel like people and I appreciate they seem to know that you can say "I love you" to anyone important in your life, or anyone who needs it.
Hey! Welcome to the club! We meet on Thursdays. It’s much better over here, but you may have to awkwardly recognize how angry some of your family lives their life as.
Most of them are generally fine, for which I'm very grateful. They're not MAGA extremists, but when some of them in particular get talking about politics, I will absolutely leave. They will not take an alternative point of view seriously. Honestly it just makes me sad
it wasn’t always like this mate, politics have changed a lot idrk why ig im too young to understand. But yea i am a devout conservative voting blue for the first time simply because the amount of blasphemy/anger is just too much on the other side, plus their economic policies only work for a while then drop hard and cause the type of capitalism that leads to communism, which they’re supposedly fighting, im just so bent up now its wild. They’re quite literally exactly what they think they’re fighting against, oh how the tables turn
no one cares about “what is a woman” when i and my partner cannot afford to live
happens, they come and go, the coven with my Lord is all i need, and family, those people are just aristocrats none of them actually represent me or the average person, ig they try their best but like damn..they’ll never understand the day by day struggle of the overly complex system that they designed, the system they’ve been netted into since birth. A system that others have to fight with blood and sweat to be a part of, they don’t live day by day like any one of us do and never have. Most of us fight our whole lives for the quality of life they’re given at birth, and guaranteed to their whole lineage short of an extreme change, and something big has to change at some point. The issue is more market victors stomping us, than it is red and blue
aristocracy, the wealth gap, and american royalty has become a very real issue
Like Michelle said, “The affirmative action of generational wealth.”
If more Christians were like you, I’d probably still be a Christian (albeit I ended up becoming an atheist for intellectual reasons so might still not be religious, but Catholicism had plenty of push factors too). Since when did Christianity become all about judging thy neighbor?
I don't think you realize actually how important your perspective is, especially if you'd ever be interested in getting through to others still stuck in their false rage. "Hey, I've been where you are, but x y z is how I saw differently" is one of the most important ways to break through propaganda.
Clean up punctuation a little bit for stuff outside of social media and you could write professionally. And if you don’t have the knowledge for that just yet, Chat-GPT is great for copyediting work without really changing what you’ve written.
I am also a liberal conservative (or a conservative liberal?) and am old.... I can't stand trump, and will vote for Harris. I don't like her antigun diatribe, and wish she would stop harping on it. She is hurting the democrats, she should instead talk about health care, school lunches, support for Ukraine, and the many other things trump failed at. (there are a lot of them)
well, if you actually look at it, it seems to me that she is moderating her party because a lot of people in her party want the complete outlaw of guns but she’s convinced the party to settle with gun control and basic gun laws, which is a thing a lot of Americans agree on, building a caucus drastically less crazy than that which we were seeing 10 years ago. She’s a moderate and is trying to moderate everyone around her, we need that rn. Someone who can look the crazy ppl in the face and laugh yk, no fear, no going back
I'm a pro-gun liberal but I have never met a reasonable gun owner that thinks guns should be an unrestricted free for all. Guns are not toys and people who own them should be mature and responsible about it. The most serious folks I have met about gun safety are all dedicated gun owners.
So I'm not really sure what the segment of society is that thinks we need less gun regulation. I get some hesitation about banning things outright. I would like to own an AR at some point because they are fun to shoot and so I would be disappointed and fight against a democratic policy to ban them but at the same time it has been done and reversed before so it's not this dire all hands on deck situation to save them.
It is an on-going discussion we can have in society without it being so important that it's worth voting for someone like Trump about. Remember he said take the guns and go through due process after, I mean that sentiment alone is way scarier to me than banning assault rifles because it is an attack on the basis of the second amendment instead of a restriction on top of a right.
She is hurting the democrats, she should instead talk about health care, school lunches, support for Ukraine, and the many other things trump failed at. (there are a lot of them)
Have no idea where you get for news from, but Kamala Harris speaks about these issues all the time in highly intelligent detail. She has been talking about the very things you think she should for years now.
I was in the same boat but I also fell down the alt right pipeline as well. Once you claw yourself out of all of it, at least for me I was left with a deep distrust and disdain for politicians and careerist establishment types.
The Democrats are a bandaid do nothing party but they're at least leftists which a lot of my policies align with
Both sides are bad because both are complicit but only one side is the driving agitator preventing the discussion of actual progress and change. The side that is too busy worrying about whether the Olympics ceremony was blasphemous and how young they could make the age of consent for marriage, or whether or not you would be allowed condoms.
