I would settle for Half Life 2: Episode 3 like the original plan. I don't need a new engine with ray tracing and HDR and whatever new shit they would want to throw in. Just make the final entry of the story in the old engine. I just want to play it. Finish the goddamn story (and I refuse to read the story that was leaked a while back. I want it for real.)

It's a meme, but Half-Life at least recently got a new entry. Don't get me wrong, i would LOSE MY SHIT if Half-Life 3 released, but another Portal entry would make more sense.
