You're not wrong. My 6'1" mother would tell me about how cruel everyone was to her growing up, including her own brother (my uncle is such a fuck). I'm so glad at 16 she met my 6'5" father who loved her for who she is. They've been married almost 50 years now.

As a six foot tall woman your mom got so lucky!!! I support romantic/sexual (consensual) preference but it kinda kills me when I see a super tall dude with a super short lady. I have dated men shorter than me but it just doesn’t feel the same. I know this is a me problem but when (straight) couples have big height difference like that:

I know, the heart loves what it loves. I've been guilty of dating comparably short women. I would love to date a woman actually my height though.
