I'm actually trans (FTM) and in a weird way all the transvestigators make me worry less about passing. Like if they're going to come after whole entire cisgender celebrities and nitpick their face bones and hair lines and whatever nonsense they choose to latch onto, why am I worried about getting clocked, it's all just bullshit anyway. These people will make up the wildest shit about absolutely anyone, even people on "their side" like Kyle Rittenhouse, so why does it matter if they figure out my testosterone comes in a little bottle from the pharmacy.

Good for you. I do worry about how trans people are coping with all the crap getting thrown their way these days and I try to be the best and loudest ally I can be cause I know it must feel like it's you against the world sometimes.

In my opinion, your attitude is the best one to have. Where you don't let them get you angry or make you feel scared enough to hide away. The only thing they're worthy of is ridicule - they're weird and embarrassing.

For my part, I discovered a whole back that the only people who clock me are totally paranoid insecure men who also do it to cis women too due to fragile masculinity issues

So, the few times it's happened, I gaslight them. Like literally "wait why do you think I'm trans... are you into that or?? Sorry to disappoint" and that basically murders them emotionally. They actually have no clue about my past & are just expecting me to out myself if asked

I don't really consider myself trans anymore, but that's beside the point I suppose. I had a sex change, it's just not really part of my life anymore unless you count this reddit account on a burner phone

Honestly, I love you for that 😆
Keep being unapologetically you (not that any of us really have a choice about it)

I'm not going to lie, it's tough sometimes. Trans women are made out to be these terrible storybook villains by people like JK Rowling, but they're just people. Trans men are either erased from the conversation entirely or are infantilized as poor deluded girls who got tricked into disfiguring themselves by some evil social rhetoric. Non-binary or gender non-conforming people are treated like delusional attention seekers. Trans people are just regular boring people who do mundane shit like grocery shopping, and have the same hopes and fears as anyone else. Some people act like the very worst thing their child can be is someone like me. I think the very worst thing your child can be is a victim of suicide because you couldn't love them for who they really are.

Truth is nobody "passes" as 100% female or male, no matter what they were born as. We are all human and we all have different bodies. It's more common to have breasts as a woman, it's more common to have a particular jawline as a particular gender, but nobody has all the features for one gender without intense surgery - and it doesn't look natural when they do that.
