I was (saw) an advertisement where the Italian rugby national team were sponsored by some car rental.
I never knew they had such rough and robust men. I'm used to seeing dramatic soccer where they roll in the grass, covering their face after getting hit in the leg.
Thing about Rugby is that there are a wide range of positions.
Props, Locks, Hooker and the rest of the forward pack, being able to disassemble somebody in a tackle is pretty much a given
The backs on the other hand are mostly pretty people, much more likely to just run around you so as not to muss up their hair do. Obviously, there are exceptions (aka Lomu)
There’s a clip somewhere of an Australian rugby player getting hit by a car while he was walking in front of a shop. I think he had his baby with him, but neither of them were injured even though they got ram against the front of the shop.
My good buddy played Rugby collegiately and semi-pro. Those guys are just built different. I remember him playing club (he's a fuckin beast of a guy at 6'4" and a dense 325lbs). They would practice their asses off to the point of utter exhaustion and then go to the bar and get shitty. Like 5x a week. I have no idea how those dudes functioned when they had to be hungover 90% of the time. They were all beasts.
