Also this is the Olympics not a highschool team. You kinda have to be at the top of the gene pool to be in the Olympics. I mean take Michael Phelps as an example. He has a wingspan of 6 feet 7 inches.

What's crazy to me is that some of them are small to normal sized - like one on the US team is 5'4" and 140lbs

Some athletes are refugees and basically have no parents anymore. Doubt they have a lot of money either.
