Why are they utterly obsessed with this issue?

426

u/-NotVeryImportant- Aug 12 '24

It's a distraction from actual issues.

166

u/DebrecenMolnar Aug 12 '24

It also flows easily into their brains because all they can think of, even when they see women apparently, is penis. Penis, penis, penis.

65

u/AshleyEZ Aug 12 '24

they sure think about penis a lot

4

u/to_a_better_self Aug 12 '24

To be fair, I think about mine a fair bit.

3

u/CanuckPanda Aug 12 '24

But you’re not thinking about others’, imagining what every person looks like naked, with a big ol’ floppy hog.

50

u/Dhegxkeicfns Aug 12 '24

Yeah, they can't really talk about how they'll move more of the tax burden from the rich to the middle class. They can't really talk about undermining the public educating system. They can't talk about selling public lands or removing regulations that keep corporations from dumping shit everywhere.

So genitals it is.

u/Flimsy-Discount2885 Aug 12 '24

Vulnerable target. It's easy to spot a racist, himophobe or a misogynist, but if you are a transphobic asshole, you can pretend you are worried about children or some other lie.

84

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '24

Weaponizing children and religion is their go to

45

u/SpicyPotato_15 Aug 12 '24

And using that religion to fuck children.

14

u/Hollywoodsmokehogan 'MURICA Aug 12 '24

Been like that since like forever

6

u/Saritiel Aug 12 '24

Yup. A tale as old as time. First it was that black women were a threat to other women and children so we have to keep them out of the bathrooms. Then it was lesbian women are a threat to women and children so we need to keep them out of bathrooms. Now its trans women are a threat to women and children so we need to keep them out of bathrooms.

Its the exact same insertminorityhere-phobic bullshit that bigots have been pedaling forever, they just swap the minority out when a few too many people start ostracizing them for the last one.

20

u/GreyerGrey Aug 12 '24

Don't forget "fairness" in women's sports. Because Lia Thomas had an "unfair advantage" with her *checks the record* 5th place standing.

2

u/hungrypotato19 Aug 13 '24

And smashing a record... for a single pool while coming nowhere near the national record.

3

u/GreyerGrey Aug 13 '24

And TYING with the woman calling "unfair advantage." Which... fux Ms Gaines really.

4

u/hungrypotato19 Aug 13 '24

And is now making millions of dollars peddling her transphobic bullshit for white supremacists to jerk off to.

Which, all the money doesn't even account for the fact that all these "news" stations fly her over on private jets, give her luxury hotel rooms, comp her meals at expensive restaurants, etc., etc., etc.

9

u/abandonsminty Aug 12 '24

We're also easier to spread hate against because we're a relatively small population who most of them have never meaningfully interacted with

22

u/GNPTelenor Aug 12 '24

At best, it's bc they're insecure and shitty.

At worst, it's engagement farming.

2

u/Enjoimangos Aug 12 '24

AKA needs all the engagement he can get after failing his career in Esports and not wanting to get a real job or education.

44

u/AltoidStrong Aug 12 '24

It is to remind other hateful people, that the republican party hates the same people as them. Issues are irrelevant to that group. They only want to know: "am I part of that in group" and "do they hate the same people as me for the out group ". For bonus points with Christo-Fascists racist Nazis - they like to hear HOW will that "out group" full of people they hate be punished, harmed or disadvantaged to ensure the "in group" stays in control and FEELS important and powerful.

Example : women are not people, they are incubators. Thus abortion needs to be outlawed and change divorce laws so women can't leave abusive marriages.

Women you are NOT part of the republican Christo-Fascists in-group. They see you as LESS OF A PERSON.

Vote Blue to save your personal rights and freedom.

8

u/vhalember Aug 12 '24

I'm still amazed at how many women don't see through the republican fascist party politics.

Men are easily duped by the strongman lies from Trump, but I'm surprised to see so many women going along with it.

39

u/_BannedAcctSpeedrun_ Aug 12 '24

Because the GOP made it an issue despite trans people being less than 1% of the population, and now conservatives are in a hysteria thinking every homely woman is secretly a man until proven otherwise.

10

u/Valuable_Meringue Aug 12 '24

I saw a street interview recently where they asked a trump supporter what % of the US is trans. He said 15% and refused to believe the interviewer when he said it was 1%

2

u/Freeman7-13 Aug 12 '24

Only recently have gendered bathrooms have been an issue

26

u/eltanin_33 Aug 12 '24

They think transgerdism a satanic conspiracy, and every person they transvestigate helps confirm their bias of said conspiracy

9

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '24

Man, I felt so weird learning that Margot Robbie was trans. I never realize how far things have come where someone considered one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood is trans. Same with Taylor Swift, she’s quite the attractive trans person.

4

u/DrMeatBomb Aug 12 '24

They only say that about Margot Robbie because she was in the Barbie movie. They get so mad when their fetish (skinny, blonde, white, barely legal) disagrees with them politically, they resort to calling them ugly. A right winger I work with told me she's "past her prime." Nevermind that he's 10 years older than her and shaped like a potato.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '24

Who are they trying to kid? Lmao.

But that does describe the hate for Swift as well. I’m not a fan of hers, but to try and call her a man is hilarious. Not just cause she looks like a supermodel even in her 30’s, but cause we watched her grow from sweet, young country girl(like their entire idealized image of women) into full blown pop star. But then again, she doesn’t like Trump, so she must be villainized.

3

u/DrMeatBomb Aug 13 '24

It breaks their brains so I'm all for it.

2

u/talinseven Aug 12 '24

🤡💀

2

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '24

Uh, you know I was being very sarcastic, right?

2

u/talinseven Aug 12 '24

Yes

2

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '24

Okay, lol. Ya never know these days

5

u/Chief_Beef_ATL Aug 12 '24

Because the GOP told them to be outraged.

5

u/TrumpersAreTraitors Aug 12 '24

Fascists gonna fascist

3

u/MyHusbandIsGayImNot Aug 12 '24

Fascists always need an out group. For Republicans it use to be gays but the tides have turned and gay marriage is widely supported.

So they go after trans people now.

5

u/NowieTends Aug 12 '24

Because they can’t win with actual policies so they target social issues

2

u/CharlesDickensABox Aug 12 '24

Beating up on vulnerable minorities is kind of their thing.

2

u/fak3g0d Aug 12 '24

fascists always need a scapegoat

1

u/Historical-Tough6455 Aug 12 '24

Same reason they decided masks were a deadly threat to their lives and represent the death of freedom.

Because it riled up the hate mob and few people actually liked wearing masks.

They gave up attackingbthe gay community since it was too large. So they targeted the smallest and least liked LGBT community and threw hysterics over it. It's a tiny community that has become the center of their world v

1

u/Panda_hat Aug 12 '24

Because they're weird as hell.

1

u/Daxx22 Aug 12 '24

The GOP weirdo alliance caught the car with Roe V Wade, and had to pivot to the next target to rile up thier base. It's still to hot to directly attack the LGB portion, but the T+'s are seen as fair game.

1

u/korovio Aug 12 '24

it's gonna let them bring back basically everything bad in Trojan horse bills.

1

u/missilemobil Aug 13 '24

Because secretly they wished they can be trans. I'd put /s but honestly I don't think it's needed

1

u/wired1984 Aug 13 '24

It’s a lightning rod for the debate on transgenderism as a whole. People see the concept as a threat to their identity.

1

u/character0127 Aug 13 '24

Because it’s overwhelmingly taboo to hate on homosexuals in today’s society. Trans people are just the gays of the 80’s as far as Republicans are concerned.

1

u/DRCVC10023884 Aug 13 '24

Conservatives in the US never got over failing to stop the legalization of gay marriage. This was just the next rung on the ladder they keep trying to drag us back down all the way back to the days of segregation.

1

u/WargedOutOfMyMind Aug 13 '24

Because it gets them 5 million views on Twitter.

1

u/TomT060404 Aug 13 '24

They think their sense of attraction is what defines what a woman is. They are misogynists.

1

u/Future-Current6093 Aug 13 '24

Because the idea that they might not be able to tell men and women apart terrifies them. Why? Because society has strict rules around what you can have and how you’re treated based on what’s between your legs. The patriarchy could fall apart!!!!

1

u/Igotyoubaaabe Aug 12 '24

Because they’re very weird people.

1

u/sofahkingsick Aug 12 '24

Because they dont have the capacity to be interested in anything more than surface level observations. They basically latch onto that’s different, hate it! If it’s unfamiliar they dont like it, so they’re threatened by everything and everyone. The world is a scary place to them.

1

u/GrothersBrimm Aug 12 '24

Because they're all closeted

-5

u/Ok-Entrepreneur-8207 Aug 12 '24 edited Aug 12 '24

Because it's the only thing (sports) where the question of trans people is a real issue. I wholeheartdedly support trans people, but I do think it can give huge advantages in sports, especially for trans women, and that a seperate category needs to be made in some sports.

Edit : Very curious about the downvotes I'm getting

1

u/BalancedDisaster Aug 12 '24

Get the transphobes to shut the fuck up and then we can talk. We can have a fact based, data driven conversation when the transphobes are no longer involved and we actually have enough data to make those decisions.
