Unique things to do/see in Davis

Hello! I was wondering if anyone knew of some cool, interesting, or fun things to do in Davis? I Google some stuff but most of the things didn't really seem to pop out for me. Even recommendations to solve awesome restaurants would be greatly appreciated!

You won’t necessarily spend much time there but the UC Davis Bee Haven is cute. Same for the California Raptor Center.

You could also visit the Draft Horse and Driving Club, even better if you happen to see them riding around near campus or downtown, and they’ll give you a free ride.

Hard to have more fun than by ride by a bike around town, either through the arboretum or some of the green belts on the north part of town. Should be rental options around.

The farmers market either Wednesday night or Saturday morning would be a good start or end destination.

If you want to stay active, Rocknasium is a great option for individuals or parties. The Manetti Shrem museum at UC Davis is free. The Varsity has some fun off-beat movies.

I think the fun in Davis is more about finding random art around the city. The dominoes, the eggheads, architecture in the arboretum. Food wise, there’s pretty much something for everything you’d want - crepeville has amazing brunch, village pizza seems to have closed but the bakery still sells pizza by the slice. Sophia’s thai, dumpling house. Boba at old tea house

Dos Coyotes is great Southwestern food. It's been there since 1993 and is very consistent. Depending on where you are from you may find the greenbelts interesting. I know every time I am there I just get pissed that my city and others aren't planned out like that. It's very appealing.

In addition to the Farmer’s Market, check out some of the shops in downtown such as my favorites; the Avid Reader, Davis Cards and Games, and the Kobe Mini Mart to name a few. When I was college student, trivia was a nightly event as well as live music and open mic night at Sophia’s Thai Kitchen.

If you’re into it, there’s also the Davis Bike Loop which is a great little scenic route to get to know the area.

The root of happiness is a chill hang out spot and I’m pretty sure the only place to get kava from around here. Def recommend checking it out!

The UC Library is probably the largest library open to the public in Northern California.

There are greenhouses with exotic plants on campus that are open some of the time. crawlies.

There are greenhouses with exotic plants on campus. They are called the Botanical Conservatory. Here is a link. https://greenhouse.ucdavis.edu/conservatory/

Bizzaro World/ Four Star Movie Video is unique, it still rents videos. It has a large collection.

Community Park several blocks north of the downtown area has several children's playgrounds, including a big one with many activities called Rainbow City. If you have young kids it is a must. It also has a cement skateboard park and a new dirt bike riding area with lots of exciting bumps.

The public library is also adjacent to Community Park. It is not unique but it does have a lot of movie and TV videos, comics, music CDs, magazines, and even books. You can also check out a big telescope and quite a few other physical objects.

Of course, the real thing is the unique, intelligent, and original people.
