Coyotes are animals running on instinct. If your upset about them eating cats, keep your cats indoors, if your upset about them eating your chickens or other small livestock, protect your livestock better.

You kill coyotes for following their instincts while failing to provide proper protection to your own animals. Get a dog. Get canine scent everywhere. Stop killing coyotes because you’re just opening up the territory for more.
