Cops love the right and hate the left bc, on a fundamental level, cops exist to protect and enact the will of existing power structures/systems. (See, Capitalism)

The right seeks, above all, to maintain tradition - which very much includes the existing system. The left on the other hand is perhaps best described by its desire for change and direct opposition to current oppressive power structures in whatever form they may take.

Cops and the right are essentially allies, serving the same masters, whereas the cops and the left have a much more adversarial relationship bc they are on opposite sides of class struggle.

Couldn’t have put it better! Very reminiscent of Louis Althusser. The cops are ostensibly the repressive state apparatus representatives of the right. When the right ideological apparatus’ fail they’re the first line of defence against changing the socioeconomic status quo. They are not our friends.

sadly the centre-mass of shitcon supporters were seduced by PP briefly pretending to be an ally of the convoy’s cause, before he started blaming all the damage of the last few years on drug reform

there was another party leader who supported them the whole time… they might be shocked to be reminded how Mr Purple Party feels about legalizing drugs vs unleashing a blizzard of cops at them

Only when the convoy started affecting capital did the cops very softly guide them home

It's really annoying that dipshits were throwing fascist around when the entire world was masking up to save lives. I wonder what they think of the state department violently violating our right to protest genocide?

The problem is the word "think" they try not to do that.

They convoy occupying the capital never seemed to bother the Ottawa Police.

It'll got serious when they blocked cross border trade.

If it was up to the Ottawa cops we'd still be occupied now.

Blocking the cross border trade was messing with capital. And you don't fuck with capital

Sorry I misread capital as the capital.

Yes, you're absolutely right.

The convoy people assaulted a lot of people and I think the cops even said that they were thankful they were there...

Who was assaulted?

11

u/[deleted] May 13 '24

Random people. They attacked people wearing facemasks and tried to rip them off.

thanks for the links. I would not call any of it evidence though. The video proves nothing. Like I doubt it would be useful in court. There is nothing there. I was not at the convoy so I have no idea. All I know is they dropped the EA on a protest.

I remember seeing a video where they did report on it. But you are aware that finding the shit that would be used in court online is often difficult? And those documents are kept highly confidential for a plethora of reasons.

Oh fuck off. Only the most contemptible brainwashed idiots think it was "peaceful".

police laid more than 500 charges during last winter’s “Freedom Convoy” occupation of the city’s downtown and the city’s acting deputy police chief acknowledged that “in a large number” of other incidents police could do little more than take down information about complaints.

officers on the ground were being swarmed and intimidated

Ferguson’s testimony ran counter to protesters’ claims that the convoy had been peaceful

A summary of charges laid between Jan. 29 and March 12 entered as evidence at the inquiry showed police laid 12 charges of assaulting a police officer, six charges of assault, five charges of possessing a weapon, three charges of assault or intimidation with a weapon, two charges of carrying a concealed weapon, one charge of possessing a restricted firearm and four charges of uttering threats of death or bodily harm.

people only resort to name calling and insults when they have no argument... Why so mad? Maybe take a deep breath or something. It's only a question. No need to jump to conclusions and spit vitriol like that.

Let me know when they invoke martial law and shut down bank accounts.

Let me know when they block multiple border crossings, terrorize the residents of the capital, and collect weapons with plans to murder folks, fucko.

Only happened in your SSRI and meth-induced dreams.

They dropped the EA on the convoy... did you forget about that?

16

u/TheREALFlyDog May 13 '24

Yes, it was literally the only thing that got the piggos to stop dogfucking and do their goddamned job. The Kross-Kanada Konvoy got to terrorize the capital and shit up multiple border crossings, unopposed, often gladhanding with the cops, for nearly a month.

so you are referring to the police when you say "they? and not the government?

Just to clear it up. The government is perfectly fine NOT being ok with the protests you are referring to also. Police only follow orders...

After all else failed.
