Need Advice Need help

First time poster here. Have a really ugly nail and finger , that’s been like this for at least a year. Started from a nail I bit and then peeled. When it starts to heal I just pick at it and peel the nail growing back. I know I have to stop that, but is there any product I can use to help with this?

That’s a periungal wart and will need to be treated to go away

These are warts. They’re contagious, so picking them can spread them to other fingers (and other people too). It looks like a semi bad case, I would definitely ask your pharmacist or dr for help.

Dr scholl’s has a whole line, salicylic acid is usually what the active ingredient is, so be careful with it. But this is a wart, and a large one too, you might want to see a doctor because warts feed on your blood in a sense and have a healthy blood supply, so removal can be messy.

Thank you for the input. Unfortunately, I’ve picked at this thing for so long as it heals

I once battled a pretty serious spreading wart on my hand (not periungual). Tried every OTC treatment available without success. Once I used the below protocol it was gone in 7-10 days. The wart will swell from soaking up the apple cider vinegar and become rather sensitive while it kills the wart all the way down to the root.

This is from google, and says it too can be used for treating periungual warts:

To treat a periungual wart with Apple cider vinegar you can:

  1. Mix two parts ACV with one part water
  2. Soak a cotton ball in the mixture
  3. Apply the cotton ball to the wart
  4. Cover with a bandage or medical tape
  5. Leave on overnight
  6. Rinse off in the morning Repeat daily

(Stop using ACV if it causes excessive burning or irritation. You should also avoid applying ACV to open wounds.)

Okay I had one of these and nothing over the counter was working. Others may advise against this but I’m telling you the stubborn wart was gone practically overnight. Use apple cider vinegar or tea tree oil on the wart. I used straight up tea tree. Then, cover the tea tree/vinegar doused wart with a thin slice of garlic. Then cover that with a bandaid. Hope this helps!

What worked for me as a kid for something like this similar but not exactly the same was dry ice, apple coder vinegar, and some kind of medicine from walgreens

I wrap mine with bandaids when they are getting really bad. Take them off at bedtime so the skin can get air. Mine heal up in a day or two normally. Best of luck
