That journal is stunning! Where did you get it? Good luck starting your first bullet journal!

Thank you! It’s the Artist Edition 2024 from bulletjournal.com, designed by Sarita Walsh. I really love the way the stars change color in the light. It’s even more stunning in person!

I got this one, too, for my 2025 start! I’m trying to find the video where the artist talks about all the details of the design (including why the BuJo lightning bolt is hidden behind the elastic strap), and I can’t for the life of me find it. If I do, I’ll post it. She put so much thought and so much detail into this one.

Ok I got super curious about the hidden bolt so I did a little digging. I couldn’t find a video of the artist herself talking about it, but I did find an unboxing video on the official bullet journal insta with this caption:

“Every year, we partner with artists from the Bullet Journal community to create a journal that tells the story of their Bullet Journal practice. Earlier this month, we released Artist Edition 2024 together with Sarita Walsh (@saritawalsh). The shooting star featured on the box serves as a metaphor for moments of clarity and insight while the Bujo bolt, which is hidden behind the band, is a nod to the conscious practice of uncovering our intentions and values that we all undertake when we open our Bullet Journals.”

Thanks! I’ve had a little analysis paralysis on where to begin. So I’m about to do a pen test and go from there lol

What's a pen test? I have so much to learn

I turn to the back of my book and then just test a bunch of pens 🥰 Because it’s the back, and it’s pen testing, there’s no pressure, and then it’s easier to start at the front because the book already has marks in it 🥰

Exactly what hyzenthlay said! Also indexing the brand/color/type of each pen or marker as you test them makes for a great reference page

I love your journal! I am also starting out this year! I began my set up yesterday.

Hey thanks! What kind of layout did you decide to start out with?

I made an Index, Future Log and a tracker yesterday. My main goal was to keep up with some PT exercises so it was my priority to set up. I haven't gotten much further but I want to finish my Future Log and start my January spread today.

Sweet! That’s the general direction I’m going with too. Good luck with PT!

I really want to start too! Love the journal. I have the same Clinique bag lol. 😆

Tysm! My mom gave me a bunch of Clinique bags she had and I loved how this one went with all the pens and stuff I already had lol

How pretty! Have FUN! BuJo has become therapeutic for me. I avoided it for years because I thought it would be tedious to make my own spreads every week but now I look forward to it!

Omg I have avoided it for sooo long. I’m starting out small and simple to keep from getting overwhelmed lol. Hopefully I’ll work my way up to a decent spread! This sub has been such a great resource!

I picked that up recently too! It is so beautiful. Also the Pigma microns have been a go to for me as well but unfortunately I learned that I needed the plastic nib version as I use too much pressure when writing.

I need to pick up some plastic nib versions lol I do the same thing. Microns work well for sketches and drawing for me but I absolutely destroy them when writing 😅

That is so pretty!
