He should have used the money to move himself and the kid to literally any other 1st world country where medical care is a right instead of a luxury

I don't know what to call it exactly, but it is absolutely ironic that there's this argument that socialism/communism is evil cause it "forces you to share", but a story where a man sacrifices his ability to walk for someone else cause of capitalism, that is considered wholesome and heartwarming.
