He'll get out on bail and have plenty of time to vote. The conservative prosecutor will let him plead down to a misdemeanor so with good behavior he'll be out of prison in less than 2 years. And he can keep his guns.

The way the law is explained in this article it seems he is very guilty. Getting bond is normal

Hasnt colorado passed multiple bail reform laws in the past couple of years?

I’m uninformed about that. All I know is that $5k is a very low bond.

When states or cities pass bail reform, everyone benefits from it. That's how it should be. If the person isnt deemed a danger to society or a flight risk they should be able to get bail.

Shooting a kid in the face who was in a vehicle parked on a public road writing a note asking for permission for a photoshoot would qualify as a danger to society.

Usually, bail reform laws have exceptions for violent/serious crimes. If bail was used how it should be, it would be ok since I agree he's likely to show up to court (risk of re-offending is debatable). The problem is, most people (especially non-white people), don't get that kind of benefit of the doubt. Most people get much higher bails for similar offenses because DAs use people being stuck in jail to extract guilty pleas. Most convictions are obtained this way. People are generally desperate to get out of jail and even if they didn't do something, they will often take a lesser charge to leave as soon as possible. Otherwise, they risk being stuck for god knows how long, and even if the evidence is weak, odds are good they'll be found guilty anyway.
