The Portland Police Association, formed in 1942, was one of the first modern police unions established in the United States. The first president of the PPA, Otto Meiners, was a literal Nazi and an a former member of the pro-Nazi German American Bund, a blatant fifth columnist organization.

I was reading this book called "Set The Earth On Fire" by David Correia and it traces the beginning of the modern police to Pennsylvanias coal and Iron barons, they formed an Association of police and used the the pinkertons to help gain information on the unions and striking workers. Bloody time. Fxcking disgraceful. Most were part of the KKK.

American policing would make an interesting season. The LAPD alone — from their racist segregationist chief during the 60s Watts riots leading to his direct replacement and the 92 Rodney King riots, the invention of a “criminal database” to keep track of poor people and community leaders to “protect” the 1984 Olympics. Hell, even the real reason the Soviets boycotted would be interesting.
Tie it in to Portland Nazis and Baltimore space catchers and there’s a narrative.

For all of the well-deserved trash talk that the South gets, the former Confederate states were ironically the only part of the United States with virtually no pro-Nazi sentiment whatsoever. Yes, despite their numerous ideological similarities, many White Southerners had no interest in what Germany was selling. Even the Ku Klux Klan was divided on Nazi Germany, and the Southern Klan members were those most opposed to cooperation. The Silver Legion was based in North Carolina. However, its largest chapter was in Minneapolis, then one of the most antisemitic cities in the country. Much of the Silver Legion’s support base, as the real loreheads like me know, was in the Midwest and West Coast.
