Why did they not let the plane land in Grozny?

I think by now it's a known fact that the russians shot the plane. Unintentionally, while shooting drones. I just dont understand why they didnt let the plane land? Like okay you made a mistake, no one is dead at that point, just let the people safely land, and everyone is happy. I dont follow the logic

They wanted to hide the fact that they shot down the plane. Because of Russia's ego, they won't apologize.

Agreed. They hoped it would go down in the sea, have no survivors and be hard to salvage. They're absolute cowards in other words.

They either really hoped that it would crash into the sea to hide the evidence, or they were under attack and closed that airspace.

I was thinking the same question. I was surprised to see it looks about the same distance from Grozny to Aktau as Grozny to Baku.

Still seems much better to stay over land and go to Baku though to have a chance of landing if they could only make it halfway.

Maybe they threatened the pilots to go to Aktau. By doing this, they hoped it would crash into the sea and the evidence would disappear.

I think due to two facts (1) From Grozny back to Baku was around 350 kms while Aktau was 300 kms. (2) due to war condition, they had to leave Russian air space asap. And good to consider the fact that Grozny advised them to fly to Aktau as other airports (Makhackala) didnt accept them either.

Because "Carpet" plan. During drones attack and 6-8 (depends )hours after planes are not allowed to land in airports. The same happened during drone attacks in Moscow and other places
