Kim Jong-Un Unveils North Korea’s New ICBM!

u/Aggressive-Track496 Mar 25 '22
Why is it edited for suspense like a cheap reality show tho?

u/thuggishruggishboner Mar 25 '22
It's fucking awesome. It's like what a perfect parody of him would be like. But he went and did it himself.

u/CrispyMann Mar 25 '22
Yeah I thought this was a parody b. The fact that it’s real makes me respect the hell outta him. Talk about owning the narrative haha.
I mean sure he’s a dictator and horrible, but the guy’s got style you gotta give him that.

u/Helpdeskagent Mar 25 '22
Not sure he’s owning it, pretty sure he thinks it was top tier badassery

because Kim's life is a cheap reality show
20
u/DeweyDecimator Mar 25 '22
Exactly. All I could think about while watching this was "how many takes did they do to get this shot? Did Kim hide too much of his face while pointing and demand a reshoot? What if their sleeve didn't move up enough to uncover their watch?"

He learned from the best of the worst. Donald Trump

"And then we fell in love, okay? No, really - he wrote me beautiful letters, and they’re great letters."

u/ToTheBlack Mar 25 '22
Oh God, it bothers me that I can't tell if this is a fake quote or not. My only hesitancy is that he used the word love. The rest looks entirely legit, exactly his way of speaking.

Bro what?

u/iStayedAtaHolidayInn Mar 25 '22
Go watch the trailer video Trump made for Kim. Tacky reality tv and shitty promos is the language he speaks.
Found it:

I mean, it’s kinda genius. Kim Jong Un is secretly obsessed with movies and western culture. This probably got him rock hard.

Imagine a missile is your country’s proudest achievement.
12
Mar 25 '22
The Saturn V rocket that took the US to the moon was indeed just a missile itself, no?
31
u/ga-co Mar 25 '22
If we’re going to say the moon landing is America’s greatest accomplishment, that’s fine… but the rocket is just one component of that achievement.

Mar 25 '22
Easily the most visible component yes, and one we used for propaganda purposes for literally decades. The Shuttle Launches were broadcast on every channel, in every classroom and every home. Shit, the go-to imagery of NASA is still that Shuttle on the pad with the Saturn V, and it's been decommissioned for years.

u/iStayedAtaHolidayInn Mar 25 '22
Listen, if this limp dick is able to get one of these piece of shit North Korean rockets to somehow land a human onto the surface of Mars alive, then he can brag all he wants about his country’s “rocket achievements”
2
u/tayman12 Mar 26 '22
I think the point they are making is that the saturn V is not our greatest achievement, its the fact that we used it to go to the moon, its not like we built the saturn V and then just stared at it and went "yup we did it...our greatest achievement"
1
u/mooimafish3 Mar 25 '22
Yes in the sense that an arrow shot from a bow is also a missile
2
Mar 25 '22
ICBMs are a direct next-step descendent of launch vehicles like the Saturn V. And the correct term for an arrow shot from a bow is indeed a "missile".

Ukraine probably would think so yes. This will probably ensure the survival of the regime for a few more decades at least.
1
u/Bearorist Mar 26 '22
It means safety for them, a country that can send a nuclear missile around the world is one that other countries will be hesitant to attack with their own.

I like the part when they are all trying to figure out how to read an analog watch.
“Small hand at 5, big hand at 5,10,15,20,25,26,27 28! Yeah it’s bout 5:30.”

But have it

I hope that it would bring some joy to any person who was tortured by this regime to know that the rest of the world is gleefully laughing at this chubby despot who takes himself so seriously

How dare you!?! Glorious leader is 7 ft tall. When he met Dennis Rodman, he had to bend down to shake his hand.

Our missile defense system would chew that up like it was nothing.
But we probably should fuck north Korea up for stepping.

It’s weird seeing people post literal propaganda and fawning over it
30
Mar 25 '22
In this case it's really not fawning is it? It's pointing and laughing. This is the kind of thing a 7th grader comes up with.

I legitimately thought this was a sketch initially. My first thought was "wow that guy looks just like Kim Jong Un!"

It is too round at the top, it needs to be pointy. Otherwise it’s just going to bounce right back.
