Imagine collectively deleting Eurodance and Europop from existence just because you think US is the only country in the world. Man is missing out

Imagine collectively deleting literally everything that isn't the US. Man's missing out.

Imagine collectively deleting literally everything that isn't the US and a good chunk of the US they don't like. Man's missing out.

And yet a huge amount of popular music in the US is produced in or by Swedish artists, or other people from places smaller than Texas. I guess they don’t count because they are only able to do that because American military is protecting them and pays for their healthcare. More per capita than any capita in the entire US

Avicii comes to mind

Max Martin? He has a pretty decent catalogue of “typical” American pop singers/bands

We’re absorbing other ones, ask Canada.
Those fucking idiots will believe anything their daddy tells them.

You clearly do listen to your heart! :D (And yeah, a wild Modern Talking reference appears on an unrelated Reddit sub? That's an instant upvote!)

That's it, I'm leaving this sub. It only makes me mad and this one right here tipped the scales.

Also “ask Canada”?! Ask us what?! Why their Orange Cheeto thinks he can “absorb” us? I’m with you. I can’t deal with their crap anymore.

u/successful-disgrace Canada 9d ago
Yeah, I agree. Cheeto man is absolutely not absorbing anybody, you can't just decide to adopt a country.

u/CsrfingSafari 10d ago
I'm not. It makes me feel good knowing I'm not as stupid and self absorbed as some of these Usians that get posted here. Low bar, I know.
Thank god I know USians IRl who are the polar opposite to those posted here.

They couldn't buy greenland, what makes them think they could 'absorb' Canada?

Talking of absorbing Canada as if that's a real thing and not the delusions of an orange shitgibbon.

u/sexylawnclippings 10d ago
even delusions is a strong word… anybody with above 60 IQ and a shred of media literacy realizes that it’s a joke that’s been being made for years and the cheeto is just playing into it

"Orange shitgibbon" is an amazing description, thank you for this gift!

I dont think this is defaultism, this is just another type of gross US arrogance

u/1PettyPettyPrincess 10d ago
Yeah, it’s not US defaultism. It’s just someone trolling online by trying to get under people’s skin and it clearly worked lol

Bro, earlier this year I was visiting family in Sri Lanka and Both my uncle's had a USB with a bunch of songs from the 70s and 80s and both of them had this song.
Got stuck in my head even after coming back home.

recently saw one of those "how European are you based on how well you know popular european music" posts, legit one of the comments was an american guy going "most of these songs ain't popular. I only know 4 and i'm a music expert". I thought he was trolling or something but nope, he was serious lol. When he got pointed to the fact the title of the vid litterally referneced the music being popular european music, dude legit went "Ain't no way y'all listen to different music."

I’ve seen this song on way too many edits of old Mercs (W123, W124, W126, W140, etc.)
Can’t complain about it though.

OP sent the following text as an explanation on why this is US Defaultism:
The video was about somebody’s favourite song from the 80s, absolutely jackshit to do with the US. One of the commenters decided to make it all about the US.
Is this Defaultism? Then upvote this comment, otherwise downvote it.
