He waltzed through the front door and snuggled right in. We've had him for a few weeks now and I'm so happy. I grew up with lots of cats but never had a tuxie, he's so sweet, he's 50% sleep, 40% lovies, and 10% mischief. His name is Possum. We love him.

ISO post! Please delete if not allowed!

To anyone in the Grand Rapids/West Michigan area:

This is my cat Pyro. He's a 4 year old domestic shorthair male, neutered, and up to date on his shots. I love him dearly with all my heart, but I'm going to be moving back in with family soon, likely for a couple years, and they're VERY allergic to cats, so I can't bring him with me 😢 I refuse to dump him at a shelter, and I want to make sure he goes to a good home, with people who are good with cats. It also needs to be a home without dogs, as Pyro has really bad dog anxiety.

I've already posted in r/Grand rapids and r/CatHelp , and I've been posting on various social media and pet rehoming websites for months now. I've got Pyro on a wait list for a rescue, but they might not be able to get him in until late October, and my lease ends October 7th. I just want to make sure my baby goes to a good home where he'll be happy 😭

Pyro is a big ol’ fraidy cat, but turns into the biggest, energetic goofball once he gets comfortable. I've tried to introduce him to the outdoors, but he's adamantly an indoor only cat.
He likes to burrow under blankets and laundry, and his favorite toys are strings, laser toys, and bottle caps or milk rings. He rarely ever gets legit angry; he tends to think other cats growling and batting at him are them trying to play 😅

He DOES seem to get along with female cats better/easier, but he does fine with other males too. He's not a very cuddly cat, but once he warms up to you, he always wants to be in the same room as you, and will sometimes curl up next to you on the couch or the bed, and will often greet you at the door.

I want him to go to a good cat-friendly home, where he has plenty of room to run around and play; he's been cooped up in one room for too much of his life.

If you are interested, or know someone who would be interested and would be a good fit for him, please reach out!

This stray kitten wandered into my apartment and it was love at first sight. My other two cats, Porkchop & Pickles, adore him as well! What’s another good “P” name .. I’m thinking Pistachio? :)

She’s super sweet, I haven’t heard her meows yet. She’s a bit mischievous at night, wake up to a lot of things knocked over. But I’m obsessed. Any tips or tricks would be appreciated as she’s my first cat. TIA.

I lost my Annie at 19 this last June. :( Annie was short for Antoinette, as picked by a four year old lol did not fit our usual making patterns for that reason, bought thought of as Marie Antoinette ;)

About 2 years ago I got Morrigan to keep Annie company. She is The Toothless Morrigan (she doesn't have teeth and the Morrigan is an Irish goddess of darkness and night and is associated with ravens)

Morrigan has been trying to find a furever friend, and it's been hard because it's like cat dating lol and Morrigan is a little weird ;)

Try number three (😭) is this little guy and I'm not feeling the perfect name yet.

He's a tuxedo young cat (~4-5 months old), he's a little vocal, a bit timid at first but then super cuddly, and a very loud purrer.

I have considered naming him:

  • Lúgh (Lou)
  • Balor (bay-lore)
  • Cúchulainn (coo-cullen) (or a twist of it cu(a version of my family name) like CuKennedy if Kennedy were my last name, which it isn't but it demonstrates the name. Cu means hound or monster and so Cúchulainn is the Chulainn's hound.)
  • Lir (leer)
  • Cearmaid (Kermit) Which are also names from Irish mythology.

I had lightly picked Balor before he came to my house, but I'm not sure it's his name. Then I liked cúchulainn because cucu would be an adorable nickname

But I'm also not sure it fits him either.... Maybe Cearmaid - he does like to hop like a frog lol

I would love other suggestions. They don't have to be Irish, but that's certainly a plus. If they aren't Irish, they should be royal in some culture I think.

I have connections to Irish, Chinese, Japanese, Swedish and Spanish cultures and so those would be favored above others.

Thanks for suggestions!

🤍 JUST ADOPTED 🤍 Help me name my foster-to-adopt girl?

Hello everyone! I’m currently foster-to-adopting this cutie pie and I need some name suggestions! We’re mostly a household of pups but I finally got my kitty girl her own sibling. So far the kiddos in the house are: Guinness, Walker, Sabine, Snips and Nadja. We clearly love Star Wars in this family 😅

I love naming out babies after things we enjoy- so it doesn’t have to be just Star Wars (ex. Nadja is from one of my fave shows: WWDITS)

Currently we’re calling her Mochi- which is definitely cute, and she’s soft and sweet like a little mochi ball- but I feel like there’s a billion Mochis lol. (My partner started her off as “Milky” which I hated 😭) I don’t mind to keep her as Mochi but just wanted to see if you guys had some suggestions!

Some things we enjoy are: video games (my big faves are Bioshock, Fallout, Pokemon, LOZ, AC, TWD, etc) anime, pop-culture, food lol

Other than Mochi some names I were thinking of are: Clem / Clementine, Venti / Ventress, Sock, Soup, Petal, Bo / Boo, Chi / Chihiro- but idk yet!

Help a fella out please! & Enjoy these stunning pics, courtesy of the shelter! Hoping I can get some nice ones of my own soon, but she’s currently recovering from surgery and is stuck in her little cone.

(And with that, my little family is complete 💞 I’m so happy to have her here!)

Hi everybody, we inherited this tiny 5 pound cat after a death in the family and we are fairly certain at this point we’re going to keep her, as long as our dogs can relax a little more as they get used to her.

As we’ve been acclimating her we’ve just been calling her cat because we didn’t want to get too attached in case our dogs couldn’t cope but it looks like it’s gonna be possible for her to stay, so we need some names!

We’ve thrown around Orca (bc of her markings), Persephone (bc she came to us due to a death in the family), my 3 yo niece threw out the name Garage Garage, which to be honest is hard to beat….what would you name her? She’s very small and twitchy, super curious, and talkative.

Saw him as I was going to work at 7am under a lamppost on the service road (thought he was maybe no longer with us) saw him at the same lamppost on my way home at 5pm (100% still with us) and I yoinked him SO FAST. took him to the vet, he’s healthy as far as they can tell, 1.4 pounds, and maybe 7 weeks old. Jokingly thinking of naming him service road or lamppost.

So super Florida Women story incoming - stopped because of a baby gator - and found this sweet girl all alone and shivering in some woods. She instantly started purring and fell asleep on me when I picked her up. She loves car rides and the beach. We will be harness and water training her - maybe she’ll even end up paddleboarding with me. The CDS got me gooood!
