No that's his tail, the actual penis folds out from about halfway the tail. And the tail is taking some weight yes but he's mostly just standing on tiptoes.

My family raises a few tortoises, and I don't even know how to explain the monstrous thing that comes out of them. It's like the movie alien, where its mouth opens and another mouth comes out. Our 25 yo sulcata covers the entire patio with white runny you know what, and you have to hose it all off. I think I have a little PTSD from having to know this, so I just wanted to share it with y'all too. :)

Turtles are generally accepted as a cool creature and I don't understand why people shudder that they have huge turtle cocks. Remember they need to be like 45 degrees off the floor to insert the females, it's like horses, it needs to reach to inseminate.
