Fun fact: Turtles are like humans in the sense that they need constant appreciation and love. To whoever sees this, you're appreciated and loved by at least one person! (:

I don't think my tortoise is capable of any emotion but hate.
Love the evil little bastard though.

This seems inconsistent with their lifestyle and upbringing ("lay them and leave them"). They're passionate about you as a food-provider, but not all species distinguish between the giver and the gift. Though we do have a grey river turtle who very carefully eats food in our hands, taking care not to bite us. He will also sit in my daughter's lap, watching while she reads on her phone, as though he's spying on her text messages.

Exactly,. When he's back in the pool, God alone knows what he tells the others. He knows more about her social life than I do!

Turtles are even more unsocial than redditors, they really don't like other turtles or humans who don't give food

Apart from being fed I promise you my turtle doesn't give a solitary fuck about me.
