Broken case. You can't repair it. Start looking for a new unit.

That is a crack in the engine block. transmission case. Why do you need an engine OP, when your transmission case is screwed up?

EDIT: Whoever installed your starter may have cracked the block transmission case/bell housing tightening the starter bolts.

Am I confused? It looks like the bell housing of his transmission is cracked. Not the engine?

SOB --YOU'RE RIGHT,,,I'M WRONG,,,WAY WRONG. My brain got turned around, I thought the starter was going into engine block, WRONG, starter is going into xmission/bell housing.

You’re good man,

Yeah he’s going to need a new/used transmission otherwise that starter is going to end up separating leading the vehicle to not start(writing as if OP is reading for info)

I just assumed it was my engine because when i was driving all of a sudden i had all this oil spill everywhere my and smoke coming out of truck and stopped driving or my truck stopped

Need to see the color, if it’s red it’s ATF(Automatic Transmission Fluid) meaning the case is cracked into the casing. I can’t speak about the engine.

Definitely a new transmission.

Fluid on the bottom of the trans looks like oil. Probably rear main seal (engine) can replace that once trans is out.

So i just need a new transmission from what you can tell?

You can remove the transmission and have some one weld the crack. Welding cast aluminum can be difficult but it’s doable if the welder knows what they are doing.

I think that's a defect in the case. It'd be hard to make a crack like that by over tightening by hand or even with an impact
