Do bond repair treatments do anything meaningful?
I've often heard that there is no such thing as truly repairing damaged hair and the only thing you can really do is cut your hair to start over. If that's true, then what's with all the talk of "repairing hair bonds?" Do hair bonding treatments actually do anything?
I just asked chatGPT this question (I know it's not 100% accurate) and it told me bonding treatments are essentially a temporary fix, but you should find and solve the root of the problem.
I just went and had a consultation with a stylist yesterday and she suggested an Olaplex or Botanical Repair treatment plus deep conditioning and braiding my hair to keep my hands out of my hair. My worry is that since I still pull my hair on and off and haven't gotten a haircut in over a year, my hair is too damaged to grow and while braids will help keep me from pulling, they won't help grow my hair.

it repairs bleached and heat damaged hair, not necessarily regrows it. i have bleached, curly hair and olaplex no. 3 and k18 help me keep the parts of my hair that i DO have be softer and healthier, and regain their curl after bleaching. i also find that having my hair be smoother and softer helps me pull less because i tend to pull textured hairs. not sure it would be helpful tho if ur hair is not damaged outside of the trich
