Look for ProtoArc EM03. It is rather big and cheap.

I can totally agree. I wanted to try some of trackball magic without spending much money for Slimblade pro. And I bought EM03. I’m totally positive surprised how it well works. Never expect that quality for that price and Im convinced that next one will be Slimbalde pro, especially new EQ one :)

I forgot to warn you: if you're going to use trackballs, be sure to buy lanolin. This is an ointment for the skin made from natural ingredients, but it lubricates trackballs perfectly so that they spin for a long time and smoothly. The cost and expense are minimal. And I'm already starting to forget how I suffered with a resisting ball.

The Elecom deft is good once you break it in. My favorite is the slimblade pro!

What do you mean by “break in”? I got one but find the position awkward for some reason. I also can’t fully get used to the mouse buttons on the side. It feels like when I press it, I’m moving the entire mouse. It doesn’t feel stable.

For reference, I have a slimblade and expert mouse and like how they feel.

After you use it for a while the stiction gets better. I really like the layout for medical reasons! You do get used to it if you stick with it.

If you're right handed, I still find the Logi MxErgo the best I've ever used. They have a new "s" version that has quiet clicks.

Kensington expert mouse. Stupid name for a trackball, but one of the best I have ever used. Does Bluetooth or dongle. Nice for switching between two device with the switch on the back. Battery lasts me about 9 months of crazy heavy use. Been my daily for years.

Sanwa Gravi is my current favorite, around $45-ish
