Music The Kim Kardashian version of "Santa Baby" is my favourite
I'll preface this by saying I do not like the song "Santa Baby". It focuses entirely on the material side of Christmas, and the overly-breathy vocal in every version was already obnoxious.
But if you're going to do a song focusing on the material side of Christmas, doing it as a pastiche that looks at the uglier side of that is a more interesting way to do it. That breathy vocal works better as something unsettling than just the usual smarmy.
The visuals really suit the mood that they're going for. It's got the grainy home movie look to it, people playing Twister, intersected with hedonism and debauchery, as well as Christmas traditions like carol singers.
All the stuff going on, but no two different cohorts interacting with each other, with the whole thing filmed with one continuous shot, like it's someone just passing through, as Kim Kardashian takes you on a tour of the underworld.
A lot of people have been calling it things like demonic and nightmarish, and frankly I agree. But I have no love for the legacy of Santa Baby, and a self-reflective take by someone who is fully immersed in the very self-absorbed world that the original describes gets more out of that song than the original itself, or any of the more-faithful covers.

So I just watched this music video. And yeah, it’s actually cool AF. Would I listen to it regularly during Christmas time? No. But I too hate the regular song anyway for the reasons you stated. So this video is basically showing and telling the story of the new commercialised Christmas. At least that’s what I got out of it. It was creepy as all hell but also really cool

I haven't heard it but I hate that entire family so I will avoid listening to it if possible

I upvoted at first, but then watched the video and it was thought provoking and interesting enough for a downvote.
