Other regional/national championships What happens at the Macau hairpin?

I was just watching the Qualification race for the GT world cup and i saw that at the hairpin some cars (like the mercedes in the pic) try a dive on the inside but then they just stop and let the others through. Is it just some honor code to prevent chaos or something else?

Other regional/national championships Dear British GT organisers…

There I was all excited that we’ve finally got a Porsche back in GT3 in British GT and, just like the V10’s, the organisers have silenced it.

The only reason I can think of why they would do this is due to noise restrictions. Thank you to all those people moving near race tracks and complaining about noise…

But then you have the BMW GT4, the Lotus GT4, the Mustang GT4, all of which are just as loud as the Porsche unsilenced, and not far off the V10’s. So what’s the deal? Does anyone on here have any insider info as to why this is the case?

I find it rather sad and disappointing that the road going versions sound better than the race cars. The noise is half the reason I pay the money to go to these events!

Edit: I think it’s clear from the replies that nobody knows why. Some series have it unrestricted, some don’t. It’s not country dependent as the Porsche in GTWCE this year at Brands was unrestricted (as were the Audi’s and Lambo’s). They’re silenced in WEC and ELMS, yet run around with the ear splitting Caddie, Corvette, Lambo etc in WEC and LMP2’s in ELMS. Perhaps an email to SRO may produce an answer.

Other regional/national championships I'm sure, I'll get some contrary opinions but since I like my hearing, I'm quite happy that the Porsche are running the "silent"* endurance exhaudt at the first ever 12h Porsche Endurance race At Spa Francorchamps...

Other regional/national championships why do so many series use +1 lap?

was recently watching Porsche Carrera cup and Ferrari Challenge - why do they both have a time limit and a +1 lap? Like, 30 minutes +1 lap for example.

why not just a 30 minute limit?
