[PC] Final fantasy 16 vs Refantazio vs P3R

Hello I'll soon be finishing P5R and since there is a sale im thinking any of those 3 games.

Some background.

The only Final Fantasy I've played is 10. I enjoyed the way the main story's pacing and the worldbuilding as well. I'm iffy on 16 mainly because i heard that there are no good side characters and the combat gets dull. I'm still considering it because of the world building.

I've finished P4G and omw to finish p5 as well and my one issue with those games is that i feel they tend to drag and meander a bit too much in the middle, to a point i lose interest.

PS: I've played both the demos available and its hard for me to evaluate big games based on 2-3 hours of content.

While I love P3R, I am fueled by nostalgia. Since you've already played 4 and 5, I would suggest something different. 

Metaphor was phenomenal, and i really enjoyed my time with it. FF16 was enjoyable, as well, but thr story didn't grip me quite as much as Metaphor. It really comes down to which battle style and gameplay you prefer, but between the three, I vote for Metaphor.

Refantazio has won GOTY in many game reviewing pages. It was my GOTY as well. Give it a go

May I ask, why are you not considering 7 remake and rebirth since they are releasing soon on steam?

I like both metaphor and ff16. I lean more towards 16 but that's a personal opinion.

For me both 16 and metaphor are close. I really like the combat in FF16 and it has offers a lot of mix and match but it's easy in the first play through and the check point system is too generous. The main story is quite good and the main cast is actually quite likeable. It just lacks side content and exploration and that's the only draw back.

Metaphor turn based combat is similar too P5R but with archetypes instead of personas. It is also fun and the story is good and engaging. It has however the same draw back as P5R which is that the game has a lot of downtime. You spend a lot of time waiting for time to pass or your bonds to develop.

In the end it comes to what do you want at the moment real time or turn based story. The best of both words imo is to go for FF7 remake and rebirth with its hybrid atb combat.

Hey thanks for the response. As for FF7 remake, I want to play through the original before going into the newer ones.

The original is really really good and much shorter than the remakes. It was really ahead of its time. If you will play it at any point I recommend you to do it with the 7th heaven mod pack which adds a top notch full voice acting to the game
