[PS5] Should I buy Astro Bot or Alan Wake 2?

I got a $25 PSStore gift card for Christmas, wondering if I should get Astro Bot ($50 rn) or Alan Wake 2 ($30) - I love horror movies but not as into horror games. I may add games like Cuphead ($18), Nine Sols ($30) or Prince of Persia The Lost Crown ($20), but for the big name not sure whether Astro Bot or Alan Wake 2 is the move.

i mean they're two completely different games. i personally got bored of alan wake 2 halfway through the game but also haven't played astro bot yet so i can't really chime in with any substance. stellar blade is a sick game tho

Don’t play Alan Wake 2 unless you have played the first one or played Control (and read all the compendiums in the game). You will probably get very lost with what is happening in the game.

(Or you could always watch YouTube summaries)

Huge overstatement. You can entirely skip AW1 and be completely fine playing AW2. Yeah, you’d enjoy AW2 a lot more if you played the first, but it definitely isn’t a “need”.
