Discussion What on earth is wrong with the people who play poker in this game?
Constant max bets on nothing more than a King high. Pissing contests to see who can raise the bet the highest before a single card on the board is revealed… is it just a bunch of little kids entering the poker lobbies in RDO? Or is the goal to just scramble the brain of anyone who plays logically because they don’t want to bother to learn the rule set? Lmao

I wish they'd included a high stakes casino on one of the paddle steamers. Not with just poker but roulette and blackjack etc.

i can play poker the normal way but it’s entertaining when i’m beating people as i don’t even look at my cards😂😂 doesn’t happen a lot of the time but it’s funny when it does and you know what they say, most gamblers quit right before they hit big

I think it’s hard to get invested on 10 cent bets lol now if we were playing with 100 plus dollars that would be good like why isn’t there some high class saint dennis poker game with a buy in of 150 dollars

Whenever someone max bets before the flop, I just sit and wait for the timer to run out and then my character folds by default. These max betters usually just wanna play a few quick hands and either get astronomical luck or blow all their money, so sitting there and making them wait usually either causes them to leave or start playing poker normally.

I teach high school and have had a lot of students interested in poker because they’ve played it in GTA and Red Dead. This is exactly how they play. All in on every hand every time no matter the cards.

Poker in this game is broken. They push the betting because if you’ve noticed, the game seems to generally reward whoever bets aggressively first. There are exceptions but usually, the first person to really crank up the pot usually catches what they need on the turn, river.

Im constantly irritated during poker games in RDO for the same reason. Bro, you don't max bet when you have a ten high, or 5 high. Personally, I think it is because most of the players do not understand how the betting works. But it's no excuse. It ruins the game for others.

Only time I play now is to get me 24 hours no kill for task. It's like half sit down and go take a shower, or fix supper! The other half go all in every time. Yep, then there's the one that raise every bet. It comes to me I'll go all in. Half the time they fold hahaha

My rule is if I see back to back all in bets and it appears this how the game has been played I leave. However, lately ohhh boy I have been in on some fun tables.
Edit: can’t spell leave apparently

If I've a bad hand then I'm going to act like it's a good one and bet high. It forces other players to either fold (they assume I've got a good hand) or bet high. I'll lose, eventually, but the winner gets a nice pot of money.

When you’re playing with suburban brat Jimmy before his bed time, don’t expect a realistic game.

Doesn't really matter how people choose to play. There is no way to bluff because there will be some smooth-brain who will bet each time. So, playing actual "poker" is super rare.
Plus, every hand is rigged. The game will predetermine which player will win. I've been at a full table, just regular bets, nothing crazy. six hands in a row, the same player won every hand against every other player. For the next two hands, he folded. Once he played again, he won 3 more hands in a row. The player wasn't cheating. They were completely innocent.
The system, for whatever reason, decided that he would win every single hand against 5 other players with zero effort.

I think the vast majority of people simply do not understand the game. They treat it like a slot machine, rather than actually using their brains and thinking.

That's the patch I want. When someone max bets 3 times in a row before the flop, the slo-mo "showdown" icon appears for everyone else. The first shot is actually chewing tobacco spit, and if you can eagle eye the second shot, a bullet this time, to hit that same spot, you get an exclusive new hat or something.

It seems to work on a timer. It happens simultaneously with all the white outfits, church hats, and freaky generic women's faces showing up.

Why do people care about other people playing like morons?
If your goal is to make meager amounts of money, exploiting a max bet preflop strategy is very easy
If your goal is to play serious poker, playing for fake red dead money in an online game isn’t exactly a good strategy

I feel that. 1 in 4 tables is good. The rest are what you described.
The money is fake and easy to accumulate, so ppl don't play seriously. It's to be expected.
