thanks Thank you and Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas and happy holidays! I hope everyone had a wonderful day.
The last few years have been very difficult for my kids and I. After losing my mom shortly before Christmas I lost my Christmas spirit. She was Christmas for me. Since then I’ve watched my children lose their father, in a different and probably worse way. Last year was the first Christmas they didn’t get to see him and this year was a the first time they didn’t even get to speak to him. I try my best, but it’s a difficult time of year for all of us. Luckily we still have some family and friends that are like family to help make it a little brighter. This year we also had a Reddit community, and for that I am deeply grateful.
I tried my best to get pictures, but it was a little chaotic this morning. Emma camped out in the living room trying to catch Santa and of course was the first one up. Alex is camera shy so he tries to hide any time my phone is out. He’s also a huge fan of sleeping in, as am I, so he was difficult to wake this morning! Connor has been helping me with the magic of Christmas for a few years now. He was very excited to have his brother join us in putting out the gifts and filling the stockings.

u/dhsagal thank you so much for the blankets. They have been well loved and put to good use so far. All of the kids love how soft and warm they are. I’m a bit jealous!
u/usmousie thank you so so much. You purchased 3 gifts for each of my boys and 4 for my daughter. Connor LOVES the Pokemon cards, case, and the fidget spinner. Alex has not taken the Grogu jumpsuit off since this morning. I think it’s his favorite gift. And the emotional support fries match his cheeseburger plush and his slippers so he was very excited to have that. Emma absolutely adores all of her gifts. She spent the entire day playing with them. The slime was a bit difficult to open, but they smelled wonderful. She has fully decorated her diary and already painted a few pictures to hang on our fridge.
u/cruciferousvegan the boys loved their headphones and I loved not hearing 2 different YouTube videos playing at the same time! Alex has barely taken his off. Since they share a bedroom headphones were the perfect gift for them, me, and my sanity!
u/championvilla Emma loves the squishmallow charm bracelet. She said it has her favorite squishies on it. Her best friend is a little jealous of it, but they are going to use the bracelet kit from u/usmousie to make matching bracelets.
u/rlaw68 Connor is in love with the shotgun you got him. The boys went outside to test it out with their friend. Apparently it is the coolest thing ever. And the gun you bought for Alex had a silencer on it. Whatever games these boys play outside will be much more fun now. And Alex of course loved the led lights. He was very upset when his were broken a few months ago so he’s happy that he has new ones to put up. He’s already asking me to put them up and move some of his posters around. I think it will have to wait until tomorrow though!
u/bengtc thank you so much for the laser tag set. The kids opened it the first day of winter break so they had something to do with their friends. Everyone loves it. Even some of the dads joined in. We may just have to buy a second set for Easter to have one big battle together. They have played it every day so far, even when it snowed.
u/0hn035 I want to thank you again for the stockings. I couldn’t fit everything inside so some had to go under the tree. My kids have never had such full stockings before! We have also never tried hot apple cider. Connor said it’s a 9.5 out of 10. I think we will make it a part of our holiday every year from now on.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity. It means so much to all of us. And thank you to this entire community. I’ve read a lot of the posts here and I’m in awe of everything you have done for so many families.

There is so much energy and joy in these pics. I love the action photos! I must say it touched my heart to see all the stockings hanging on the wall, too.
I'm sorry for the hard year you have all had and I hope things move in the right direction for you. That said, it's been a pleasure to "meet" you this year.
