RATM said it best

"there's a strike and a line of cops outside of the mill

Cause there's a right to obey and there's the right to kill"

168

u/Silent_Leader_9000 TN 7d ago

Also RATM:

"Fuck the G-rides. I want the machines that are making them"

Seize the means of production, y'all.

21

u/Nacho_Papi 7d ago

What's ACAB and who's RATM?? Is everything an acronym nowadays?

118

u/wtmx719 7d ago

All Cops Are Bastards and Rage Against the Machine.

33

u/Pfelinus 7d ago

All cats are beautiful, if you are being censored.

71

u/19_more_minutes 7d ago

All cops are bastards. "Rage against the machine", a anti-establishment band, excellent music

19

u/yeahimadeviant83 7d ago

Don’t forget Bad Religion! ✊🏽

13

u/rizu-kun 7d ago

Was just listening to “I Want to Conquer the World” on my drive home.

7

u/yimmybean 7d ago

This is my favorite Bad Religion song. No Control is such a good album.

13

u/Odeeum 7d ago

“I liked them when they weren’t so political…”

3

u/beerme81 7d ago

I liked Megadeth before they got all political.

37

u/pil0tinthesky 7d ago

Rage against the machine has been popular for over 20 years

18

u/KillerSi 7d ago

30

24

u/P47r1ck- 7d ago

That’s technically over 20

12

u/dikicker 7d ago

got em

5

u/the4ner 7d ago

They used to be popular. They still are, but they used to be, too.

3

u/Squadobot9000 7d ago

I think they qualify for the rock and roll hall of fame soon

10

u/chinzo2345 7d ago

Rage against the machine band

10

u/birddit 7d ago

You can find the definition of almost any acronym by searching for word slang.

10

u/NarrowCash3211 7d ago

Or this new thing called Google.

12

u/-RomeoZulu- 7d ago

They have internet on computers now?

-5

u/Nacho_Papi 7d ago

Ain't nobody got time for that.

4

u/Dream--Brother 7d ago

Most people who know how to use the internet have time for that. It's how the rest of us find information without having to ask dumb questions in comment sections.

5

u/Bowelsack 7d ago

It's quicker to google RATM than it is to type out rage against the machine

1

u/M4rl0w 7d ago

RATM is a really old acronym for the band

539

u/HappyMeteor005 8d ago

protect and serve the rich.

144

u/spinspin__sugar 7d ago

But still paid for by working class taxes, disgusting

50

u/Own-Capital-5995 7d ago

That's the sick part.

58

u/Iamdarb 7d ago

Call them what they really are, Class Traitors.

3

u/Hooda-Thunket 6d ago

“United Union Members Against Unionization!”

20

u/Gold_Cauliflower_706 7d ago

This revolution needs to happen before they start replacing people with robots. And soon even these cops will also be replaced. I can see it happening so 3Ds needs to happen soon.

179

u/Sean_theLeprachaun 8d ago

The only union they give a shit about is their own.

144

u/Kgriffuggle 7d ago

My dad was a cop, who retired early thanks to his union, and that union contract got him so many perks he makes way more now than he did while a cop.

He hates unions.

103

u/cptspeirs 7d ago

"The only good union is MY union."

-Your dad, probably

19

u/Kgriffuggle 7d ago

Absolutely

40

u/bobbib14 7d ago

Of course he hates unions. Sorry

87

u/bmiddy 7d ago

Soooo, the cops can have a union but no one else can?

Yes, this checks out for 'murica.

84

u/Savenura55 7d ago

These are union members hurting other unions. Disband the police unions if they have no solidarity

34

u/Cappuccino_Crunch 7d ago

Fuck yeah. The ultimate scabs

24

u/RiskyBrothers 7d ago edited 7d ago

Police unions are not unions because police are not workers. They neither produce or transform any goods or capital. Therefore, they have no disagreement with their superiors over how much they are paid out of what they produce, as their superiors do not pay them out of potential profits, the taxpayer pays them with little recourse to negotiate.

6

u/Savenura55 7d ago

Fair point

181

u/Stevie_Steve-O 8d ago

Cops exist to keep the masses inline. They protect corporate interest and serve the upper class. Fuck these clowns and their corporate overlords

25

u/dalisair 7d ago

Luigi proved this.

2

u/CreamyGoodnss 7d ago

Il nostro eroe! ❤️🇮🇹

Those cops are busting up a strike to protect Amazon's profits. Also if you think the police are on your side over the states/mega corporations then you are dead wrong partner.

12

u/P47r1ck- 7d ago

That’s the thing cops are supposed to do. Yet they go way beyond that. The fact that I disapprove of all the extra bullshit cops pull doesn’t mean I deny the need for their primary function of protecting victims and investigsting crimes

10

u/JoeSavinaBotero 7d ago

Buddy, that's literally what guns are for. The cops will take minutes to get there. You don't have that kind of time. You gather you and your family and hide in a room and point your gun at the door. Announce loudly and repeatedly to the intruder that you've got a gun and they need to leave immediately. If the intruder has any brains, they'll leave. If they're dumb, you may be forced to shoot them and that's a terrible day for everyone.

In either case, the only thing the cops will do in most situations is show up after and collect evidence and statements. This isn't even a knock on cops. It's just a reality of the fact that response times are measured in minutes and life-or-death situations transpire over seconds.

11

u/Striking-Ad-837 7d ago

Oh no, who will turn up 15mins afterwards and say there's nothing to be done?

29

u/Deus_Norima 7d ago

Entirely different scenario. Not sure why you think it matters that you need to call cops when you're under threat of murder vs calling cops to intimidate workers into no longer striking. They can still be bastards of the status quo in both scenarios, even if they are potentially helpful in one of those scenarios.

1

u/RegressToTheMean 7d ago

"Helpful"

Uvalde police have entered the chat...and wait around while children are slaughtered

11

u/OnePunchHuMan 7d ago

Don't be an idiot. Calling the cops puts you in danger of being shot by them.

9

u/stankdog 7d ago

Remember Sonya Massey? Who called officers when she thought an intruder was trying to break into her home?

When the officers showed up , barged into her home, took her for a junkie because it was night and she was tired. Then shot her because THE OFFICERS felt threatened by this skinny woman in a house robe and pot of hot water?

This fucking argument doesn't work anymore, this whole belief that oh you'll support the police once crimes are being enacted upon you shit is WRONG. Officers aren't always showing up to help, they don't solve every crime not even 50% of crimes against civilians, and what's to stop them from shooting me instead of the intruder?

Take this take and shove it.

2

u/ahedgehog 7d ago

You hate corrupt authorities yet don’t have the millions of dollars in resources allotted to them to defend yourself against a criminal? Checkmate liberal

2

u/CrystlBluePersuasion NY 7d ago

"people who don't logic the way I do/don't shouldn't be allowed to vote"

-You, in between gargling Amazon cumloads because you can't be bothered to touch grass for your shopping.

1

u/stankdog 7d ago

Literally also, any chain store like a target or Walmart will have 5 air fryers to choose from. Dense ass.

1

u/Pfelinus 7d ago

In many places they will not answer

103

u/BigDaddyUKW 8d ago

What are they even protecting? Are the picketers rioting, looting, beating up scabs? I'm at a loss here.

90

u/Miserable-Lizard 8d ago

They are breaking the strike

52

u/BigDaddyUKW 8d ago

Yup, always protecting those super vulnerable corporations!

11

u/Wadmania 7d ago

Yeah, where do you think all the taxes come from to pay their salaries?... oh wait

6

u/BigDaddyUKW 7d ago

Us poors?

8

u/JustpartOftheterrain 8d ago

Sorry, but how does making a line around the amazon site break the strike?

1

u/Hooda-Thunket 6d ago

How? By keeping the strikers away from their work?

44

u/prosthetic_foreheads 8d ago

Police are the publicly funded army that exists for the protection of billionaires and their best interests, and no one else. They only protect others from time to time to maintain their facade and attempt to keep society from falling apart, which would hurt the billionaires' wallets and ultimately get a bunch of them killed.

A billionaire owns this company. They are protecting his interests.

17

u/BigDaddyUKW 8d ago

I was being slightly facetious.

32

u/silverfoxmagicbox 8d ago

Bootlickers

-19

u/Anarcho-Chris 7d ago

Um. That doesn't really apply here

16

u/cptspeirs 7d ago

There's always a sweatier boot to lick

3

u/P47r1ck- 7d ago

They are flexible

2

u/dalisair 7d ago

The police luck the boots of the upper class.

25

u/glyde53 8d ago

They have always deployed at the will of the rich. One of their reasons for existence is fighting labor protesters

14

u/JoeSavinaBotero 7d ago

We used to have shootouts between labor and police. Labor got soft.

3

u/glyde53 7d ago

We all got soft

1

u/glyde53 7d ago

Just to be clear, before the police fought labor they were authorized slave patrols and Indian killers. They were never to protect us.

18

u/Pepperminteapls 7d ago

If it wouldn't be the police then what's next, the military?

The rich are out of control while Trump's literally shitting his diaper.

Diaper Donny gone and shit himself again.

Who's the poor fuck that's gotta clean that mess? Definitely not a union job.

For real though these times are fucked. Fight tooth and nail or gtfo while you still can

15

u/Jcaquix 7d ago

"Solidarity for me but not for thee." - some police union guy probably

12

u/boot2skull 7d ago

The police union should always side with other unions or unionizing efforts. Oh wait this is America.

7

u/thething931 7d ago

Wish cops would realize that the rich see them as a means to an end like us. Maybe then cops wouldn't be such bastards.

7

u/Penguinman077 7d ago

They’re ready to die for the billionaires but not for their fellow poors

5

u/DooDooDuterte 7d ago

Purge the police union.

5

u/Turbulent-Priority39 7d ago

Police are only there to protect the rich!

6

u/Tedmccann 7d ago

This reminds me of seeing the pictures of the coal miners striking against the coal companies in the 1960’s just to get a decent wage. It’s terrible that we have come full circle. No wonder people are angry.

6

u/HAHA_goats 7d ago

Imagine of cops worked this hard to stop wage theft.

2

u/waltz400 8d ago

Sorry to bother you vibes

4

u/thedirtypeloton 8d ago

What is a caltrop? For 1000, Alex.

1

u/A_Rogue_GAI 7d ago

It'd be a real shame if somebody accidentally put water in those van's gas tanks.

3

u/Murky-Instance4041 7d ago

Why do people hate the police? We are here to protect them! No you protect a handful of people, and not the public.

4

u/KyoKyu 7d ago

Reminds me of the Pinkertons working for robber barons against worker protests.

4

u/mamajamala 7d ago

Corporate Security!

3

u/Waflstmpr 7d ago

A Union me, but not for thee.

2

u/Accomplished_Touch81 7d ago

Fuck the police

2

u/technitrevor 7d ago

Amazon also pays less taxes. Talk about government inefficiency.

2

u/strongholdbk_78 7d ago

Amazon is a person too!

1

u/yettidiareah 7d ago

Now is not the time Mittens.

2

Amazon Cops Are Bastards!

Jk, all cops are.

1

u/khaalis 7d ago

The gilded age is back in full force!

1

u/BicycleOfLife 7d ago

Man if I was a cop in that line I would feel so dumb.

1

u/Empty_Afternoon_8746 7d ago

How can they call themselves public servants without a smile.

1

u/TuckHolladay 7d ago

Those cops look ripe for experiencing class consciousness

1

u/jimzimsalabim 7d ago

SCAB!!!!

1

u/KidColi 7d ago

This is one of the many reasons why police unions aren't real unions. Absolutely no solidarity.

1

u/MegaManZer0 8d ago

Of all the offensive shit cops do, making sure people who still want to do their job can do so isn't one of them.

-3

u/BrianRLackey1987 7d ago

I'm already supporting a Progressive Candidate for NYC Mayor, I just forgot his name, unfortunately.
