This is kind of weird. Barbara Lee isn’t against national healthcare or affordable/free education. Lee is one the most progressive voices in Congress. One of the few black congresswomen, and yes the only person to vote against giving the president unencumbered power to wage war... and she introduces a repeal every single year which loses.

Why would anyone support this random-ass white woman against Lee? She can’t even identify anything about Lee that she needs to be challenged on.

I can think of one reason that I'd challenge Barbara on. In 2016, Barbara Lee's district voted in the California primary for Bernie Sanders by a sizeable margin, yet Barbara Lee chose to be a super-delegate for Hillary Clinton. I'd ask Barbara why she defied the wishes of Democrats in her district in casting her superdelegate ballot against a progressive.

I'm sure Laura Wells will ask Barbara about her decision to take donation support from corporations, and whether that's really a progressive position.

Like voters in all California districts, the voters of CD13 have two choices for Congressperson on the ballot in November. There is no Republican in the race to point to as a something to be scared of. I think the voters deserve an opportunity to hear from both candidates in a debate.

Lee was an early behind the scenes supporter of Sanders, and didn’t support Clinton as a superdelegate until after the primary. That is the shittiest reason to challenge her. I’d do exactly as she did if I was her, and I have no love for Democrats.

Just to clarify, the superdelegate question would be my point of challenge, not Laura's.

And that's nice that Barbara supported Bernie behind-the-scenes, but his campaigin would have been more helped by an in-front-of-the-scenes supporter. She superdelegated for Hillary to curry favor with the power establishment.

Going after Lee cause she was a Superdelegate for Clinton after the primary is regressive at best.

I wish Barbara Lee well in her campaign to be re-elected and I hope she debates her only competitor.
