SHOW-OFF Tired of this joystick

Post image

It kept slipping my with my clammy fingers so I added duct tape and moved it around to tuck in under the joystick. Genuinely a good fix for people who don’t care enough/ can’t do physical mods. Recommend.

I feel the same way with the 3ds analog slider. Personally cant stand them.

Not even with the concave shape? I thought those would be at least bit better since they’re rubber

They are though... they're a lot better

PSP < 3DS < PS VITA

Oh? Where can one buy that?

Its about the 3ds “joystick” not psp

The 3DS analog slider was actually better because it’s rubber and concave. Plastic, convex slider on the PSP are just bad.

I think some people's thumb texture just isn't compatible with the circle pad, I never had an issue and quite like it. Some of my friends thumbs would slip on it constantly and the backlash eventually breaks it. I must've changed at least 10 circle pads for friends for the cost of parts after Smash 4 came out.

I wish I could have circle pad joycons because joycon sticks produce a slippery powder(?) On my thumb when I use them.

The last time I borrowed a friend’s 3DS for several months, the only problem I have was the pad slipping off when I was playing with it (it’s kinda like a feature so you can change it, yeah?). I guess if your hand is too big, even concave ones won’t work.

Uh-oh, slippery powder? Is your Switch thumbstick disintegrating or something? Might be an early warning to get a new thumbstick replacement (or just a thumbstick cover).

The powder thing happens to me with all joycons regardless of age, I think it's my dry thumb doing the dirty work. I have to wet my thumb or use one of those moisturizing pads for paper handlers lol.

Ah, I see. Maybe it is just thumb sweat (and sweat gunk)? I get that a lot when I’m playing the Switch in air-conditioned areas, my hands just sweat a lot in air-conditioned areas.

It's more likely just skin, my hands don't sweat much while gaming

Damn, that’s great. I always hated it when my hands sweat when I’m gaming lol. I have to keep cleaning my controllers and my Switch and other handhelds all the time.

My controllers are some of the cleanest out of my friends, but I also play a lot less. My palms sweat a bit which can be an issue on more ergonomic controllers like 360 and Xbone, but I mainly use Dualshock controllers so my palms barely touch the sides.

first thing I did to mine was replacing that slippery stick with a psvita one. It was definitely the right choice

I would not if I were you. While yes it holds value personally I don’t think it looks as good and it’d probably just be better to get a vita.

I use some rubber Vita thumbstick grips and a bit of glue. I also raise the cap up higher so the rubber grip won't negatively impact movement. It works super well. 🫡

Do not care enough to mod it. Maybe read the description?

That's using description loosely.

Can’t beat that click as you open the UMD slot

There's replacements out there. Ebay had a couple sellers offering them, bet you AliExpress would have them too

I've been hating the joystick lately too. I'm on a 1000 so I'm about to do the vita stick mod since it's so much easier on these ones than on 2k/3k

The reason I don’t play my psp anymore is because of joystick my hands are big now and that joystick is too small…

They make thumb sticks for the PSP. That nub comes off pretty easily so it’s designed to be easily replaced without having to take the system apart.
