Yoo i want to clean my super slim ps3 and im just watching a yt tutorial rn and i don’t have an hdd like in the video

there is a lot of cardboard inside and idk if im insane but there is also a screw missing??

help how do i remove this thing? it’s not coming out and im afraid to force it

however i lack knowledge in this subject so i won’t say it’s wrong or whatever but i’m still curious why there is cardboards to sustain the hdd

It's missing the "cradle" / holder to keep the HDD in place bruv. When the cylinders inside spin up, the HDD will vibrate and it should have been locked in place so it won't rattle inside the PS3.

Perhaps that holder is now missing and cardboard was used instead to sandwich it inside the space LoL

goddamn what a piece of ps3 garbage i have :( i couldn’t unmount the ps3 because i don’t the necessary tools since some screws seem different than the most common ones for me and i saw on the internet that there is a fan test mode that could potentially clean up the ps just a bit but apparently the super slim version doesn’t have that so i might actually toss it in the garbage can along with my broken controller and myself👺

Probably missing the hdd housing so to prevent it from moving someone stuffed the thing with cardboard. After all, if you break the hdd connector your console is a big rock that does nothing but kinda look pretty

The 12GB Superslim came without HDD caddy.

Dont worry, it's not a big deal. You can buy it on aliexpress for 2$.
