Is buying a ps3 super slim worth it?

I had a super slim as a kid and it had broke and i was wondering if its worth buyinga used one nowadays. Idk how to emulate games. Really what i wanna play is split second, motorstorm pacific rift, the og motorstorm. Ik split second is on steam but its apparently a terrible port. Anyways is it worth 100$ for a ps3 super slim?

I have owned a good deal of all 3 model PS3s and I will say the Super Slim is the most reliable. There's also 0 cfw only HEN. So kind of ass in that sense. But the disc drive will work a lot longer than the other models no doubt. And you can basically do anything you need with HEN. It's just tethered. But in the future, someone will probably figure out a solution to that lol. Could be decades tho lol.

I use a 21xx model slim because the combination of reliability and because I can install EvilNat cfw. Which is untethered. And I like that. But tethered isn't awful. We make it seem like it is a lot. But in the PS4 world it's the only way we have jailbreak. I have a PS4 Pro on 9.00 and I use a tethered GoldHEN exploit for it. It sucks to redo anytime you turn off the system but it takes maybe a minute. It's really not that bad lol. With the PS3, the truly worst part would just be knowing there's PS3s out there you wouldn't have to do it with. Not the action itself. Does that make sense?

If you don't mind OFW or HEN then go for it but if you want CFW get a regular slim. Older slim models tend to be a little more reliable in my experience.

I'd personally go with a 2000-2500 regular slim that's able to install cfw. I like the look of the slim vs ss (gets scratched too easy and has cheap plastic). If you get the slim you can put cfw and play all ps1 and ps3 games for free and most ps2 games emulate well on it too.

If you just like the SS get it! It's very reliable and you can install HEN on it too! $100 seems steep unless it comes with a couple controllers and games.

Get a regular slim. They are extremely reliable (I have had mine since 2010 with no issues). The super slims always seemed cheap and ugly

super slims have more mechanical parts but other than they are they are the latest ps3's manufactured so they'll have the most life but it's downsides is modding as only HEN works
