Oda didn't mention fruits or fruits' abilities, he just wrote " The GYUKI" " The ITSUMADE" "The HOKI" "The BAKOTSU" "The SAND NYRM"

So, are they really fruit users? Or we can assume that they are "MONSTERS" ?

Safe to assume that it's not safe to assume anything

I'm not entirely sure why this comment is so fucking funny to me but it is

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was giggling like a maniac as I read it before hitting submit for absolutely no reason

I wanst buying the theory that the elders didnt have fruit before, but were actual demons taken form, but each chapter it becomes more likely

Devil fruits are born of dreams.

Elders are creatures born of nightmares. Been calling this for a while. Hopefully we will see how wrong I am soon because Oda isn't predictable!

Something is very clearly going on with them. They have some weird mental link like they're the Borg, they all have weird fucking eyes for some reason, they can all be summoned by Saturn (perhaps they can all do it too?), they all have a similar theme and motifs.

And the black flames contrasting with Nika's.

Lucci has the black cloud thing too though, so might just be a way to show haki or something

You're right

Hold up, what if these are devil fruits that ate humans

4

Huhh, interesting thought!

Seems like such an important thing to leave out that IMO it’s safe to say they’re truly “monsters”

I still wanna think that those are devil fruits because of the black cloud around them

I had the same thought. I think they are probably monsters or some devil spawn things. shit is fuckin nuts tho

Oda never forgot to mention fruit fruit before so that’s certainly interesting.

I mean, he’s introduced characters with powers and deliberately left out their fruit before. Bonney for example. We saw her age related powers years ago but only got the fruit name recently. It wouldn’t be unprecedented.

That said, I do believe these pricks are actual demons and not fruit eaters.

Yeah but he's never referenced a power without it being a fruit. It'd be like him saying Luffy - Rubber Powers instead of Luffy - Gomu Gomu No Mi

Eh, there are powers in one piece outside of fruits/haki that have been unexplained. King Punch is a total anomaly, the minks have electric powers, there’s whatever the hell Hakuba is (which I think might relate to BB or the gorosei somehow), shyarly’s divination (could be haki though I guess), Paulie who somehow has seemingly infinite rope powers, etc.

Those aren’t all directly comparable, but the point is that Oda has introduced lots of characters with wild powers that aren’t related to fruits. Most of those are unexplained as well.

Regardless, I still think they’re demons. I just don’t think the fruit names not being there is super great evidence either way at this point.

what happens when you plant an apple... it grows into an apple tree...

gorosei are devil trees

Between that and the fucking demon summoning circle thing, I dunno what the hell they are.

Someone said devils that bloomed from the devil fruit which is....an interesting thought.

Why are their title cards Wano style? Am I missing something?
